What’s an absolutely beautiful family home . We felt right at home here . so much that I didn’t want to come back home to England :( very spacious decorated lovely . It was the middle of winter and it was extremely warm for us as well. It was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations and lots of treats left for us . Thankyou nothing was a problem . looked after the family Cat who was absolutely delightful And no trouble at all . Very close to everything supermarket round the corner, got everywhere very easy was really sad to leave. Would definitely love to come back one day. Thankyou so much xxx

Kristin’s place was incredible and she is so friendly. I highly recommend this Airbnb as the experience was amazing and I would only stay here when I return back to Iceland.

We stayed here as a family of four, including two adult children, and had a great experience. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the home since we were out exploring most of the day, but every time we returned, their home feel comfortable, and inviting. The house is located on a busy street, though we didn’t find it noisy at night—it was easy to relax and get a good night’s sleep. It’s was a pleasant walk to the main downtown area of Reykjavík, which made it super convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining without needing to drive. The driveway is a bit tight and can be tricky to get in and out of, but we ended up walking almost everywhere, so it wasn’t a big issue for us. All in all, a great base for a Reykjavík stay—clean, cozy, and well-located.

We absolutely loved every second of our stay at Eugenias beautiful home. From the gorgeous exterior to the perfect layout to the sauna/hottub/cold plunge with the babbling stream running alongside. Magical! The setting was incredibly stunning and was truly one of our favorite views in all of Western Iceland. Close enough to Reykjavik while still feeling a world away. How lucky we felt to call it home each day we returned from exploring. Traveling as a family of five with three young children (9, 7, 6) we were also grateful for the lovely amenities (legos!) that made our time at home extra enjoyable for the kids. Enjoying a coffee each morning with the incredible views of the snow capped mountains was such a treat as was a night of Northern Lights! We've traveled to many Airbnbs across the world and Eugenia tops the list as the most helpful, kind, thoughtful host we've encountered. Being able to stay in her home felt so authentically Iceland and made for the most memorable trip!

We travel to Iceland often and this is now at the top of our favorites list. The history and authenticity of the home is super interesting and very fun, but the upgrades and amenities make sure that you have no loss of creature comforts. The low ceilinged sleeping arrangements were challenging for two vertically gifted people, but we considered the contortions required to be our flexibility workouts for the week. We love to be west of center city and this location is just far enough from the hub-bub to be convenient and peaceful. If you want to get out of the city, the included car is great for grabbing supplies or visiting farther flung activities. Margret was super helpful and had very fast communication, a great host experience. This will be a highly recommended location for anyone, without small children or elders, that asks me for suggestions.

This was the best place we have ever stayed as a family. Sigurdurs place is beautiful with the most stunning view. The house is spacious and very warm and cosy. It is absolute heaven, the perfect escape to the countryside with a chance of seeing the northern lights over the lake. I would definitely recommend Sigurdur’s place to everyone. My family of seven had a great stay at Lilja's house during the National Day and summer solstice week June 16-26. Comfortable beds, attractive living area. Beautiful views of the ocean. Quiet, pretty neighborhood convenient to driving downtown and for day trips. Private yard. Everything new and clean. Friendly reception when we arrived and given a tour of the house. Good blackout shades for the midnight sun. One important note, three of the beds were advertised as "queen" but they were actually "double" for what we are used to in America. We supplemented with two foam mattresses on the floor. Also, the house is not suitable for those having trouble with stairs--my 85-year-old mother found this challenging. We enjoyed the Blue Lagoon, Perlan (The Pearl) museum, the food walking tour of Reykjavik from (Wake up Reykjavik with Thor), a Golden Circle tour that including snowmobiling on a glacier (Arctic Adventures with Palmi). We also did our own day trips in a rental van. Blue Diamond (sights around KEF airport) including views of lava cliffs, geysers, lava tunnel, and quaint fishing villages with lighthouses. Southern route included ferry ride to Westmann Islands for Volcano/Puffin tour (Eyja tours with Eddi), visit to black sand beach with amazing rock formations, and a walk behind a major waterfall. Also the west Iceland peninsula had amazing sights. I would definitely recommend this home to others. It is optimal for a couple and five single people, but doable for seven with the foam mattresses on the floor.

Hrafn's home was a great place to stay for our first visit to Iceland. Centrally located in Reykjavik, just minutes from the downtown area.

Good house for 9 people. Very clean

First impression- wow. It’s exactly as pictured… except even better. The view and surrounding area is bar none. The home was pristinely clean. The owners were very responsive and helpful. I guess our only “complaint”, is that it was surprisingly warm in the home at night, which in all actuality is a good problem to have in Iceland. Side note- the construction quality of this home was very very well done. Some people may not notice these things, but if you are one who does, you’ll be impressed. We’ve stayed at quite a few Airbnb’s, and this may very well be our favorite thus far. Overall- a perfect home base in your stay in the beautiful underrated country of Iceland.

We stayed at Omar's house for a week over New Year's Eve. We had a very nice time and were also lucky with the weather. We were able to do a lot and had northern lights on three evenings. The house is as described and the location is beautiful. We had a 4x4 with spikes. It was necessary to get to the house, as the roads were very icy and snowy. But that wasn't a problem. We would stay here again any time.
