You can enjoy this delightful, peaceful studio and sink into the soothing spirit of the wondrous Hokianga. Or you can use it as a base for some special trips around the beautiful Far North. Freshly renovated to a discerning standard. All the fittings and items are new. You’ve got a private deck that overlooks a harbour reach plus another larger deck facing the lawn – so you’re well-sheltered for those sit-around-times watching the glorious sunsets with a glass of wine in hand!
“This is my second time staying here, and I would gladly stay again. Ewen's place is comfortable and serene and ideal to use as a base for writing projects or to explore the wonders of the Hokianga. The place contains all that you need for a self-contained stay - 2 burner cooking hob, pots/pans, etc. Although the town center is less than a 10 minute walk away, I didn't leave the studio the first 3 days I was there, I was so content. If you do need to venture out, everything that you need is just down the street - small 4 Square, produce store, take-away shop, art gallery/cafe, restaurant/cafe, clothing store, ferry to Kohukohu, etc. It's a small village, but interesting to walk around. I was also thoroughly enchanted by the views of the Hokianga Harbor from the private deck, so why leave?”
The Hideaway is a hilltop accommodation set amongst native bush on the Northern side of the Hokianga Harbour, evoking a sense of peace and closeness to nature. The self-contained Hideaway accommodation offers stunning panoramic scenery with harbour views to the south, and the wilderness of a remote hill station to the north. Beautiful space for cooking and dinning area in the kitchen and the deck outside. There is a batroom with shower and toilet with a view.
“We had a really relaxing and comfortable stay in the Hideaway - it was just what we were hoping for to take it easy for a few days. The bed was really comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and the setting very peaceful. Communication with Gia was good, and check-in instructions easy to follow. We’d happily stay again and would recommend it to others. A couple points to be aware of before booking - the location is definitely off the beaten track - not a problem if you’re happy to stay in the area or just at the property, but if you’re looking to explore further afield in Northland then consider that driving times might be quite long. And the included breakfast is muesli, oats, milk, tea and coffee, so if you’re someone who likes a bigger breakfast, make sure to bring sufficient supplies with you.”
Rawene Cottage: A cosy modern cottage in the historic harbour town of Rawene, on the Hokianga Harbour, in Northland. It's a great base to explore Hokianga from or just to get away from it all. A sunny cottage with good facilities and friendly owners who live in the same area. It can accommodate two couples or a family.
“Rawene Cottage is simply gorgeous. The design has everything in the right place, from lovely views to excellent modern amenities. Paul and Claire have thought of so many little touches to make your stay wonderful. The house is a hop, skip and a jump (3min drive) to the lovely and gentle township of Rawene, and close to other great spots like Opononi, and only an hour across to the Bay of Islands. A hidden gem, highly recommended!”
