10, Nautical Mile - as the name suggests, this is a Mountain Cottage of a Mariner. This has been made out of love for the mountains and a wish to slow down the pace of life. Ideal for family and 'me' time, this is a home away from a home; tucked away in the lush green forest 15km away from the cantonment Town of Ranikhet at Uttarakhand.
“In a bit of a quandry, whether to pick the host or the space for an exceptional experience. Been to a lot of Airbnb's/Hotels but this wins hands down on being the perfect getaway with amazing location, views, hospitality by Ganesh/Rajesh with a awesome food experience served with a lot of love. The icing on the whole experience was AJ, guiding us and always making sure that our every need was taken care of. Simply put - it was a holiday that ticked all boxes. Not to be missed and for sure - Im going back SOON !!”
My home, is a heritage building and was built by my great grandfather. My family lives in the main house. Your rooms are outside the main building with their own private entrance and are in the same compound. Its unique location makes it very near to the main town of Nainital and at the same time isolates it from the city noise. You can take guided treks with me as an added experience. We also serve additional home cooked meals from our menu if you choose to order well in advance.
“We had gone to Nainital as we wanted to have a peaceful and chilly new year and oh, it was cold. We couldn't have made a better choice of stay ! Firstly, this property is nothing short of BEAUTIFUL. It's picturesque, well kept and perfectly located ! The nicest thing is that the place is exactly how he has described it. Secondly, It's the perfect spot for both romantic and family getaway. It has all the required amenities like heater, geyser and warm cozy blankets :) They keep the rooms very clean and tidy. Also provide all the toiletries and small perks like like coffee, tea packs and kettle. They also provide bon fire on request. The hosts are lovely and cooperative. They are available to help you, interact with you anytime but also respect your privacy. Rohan took us for treks on request, told us about the place history and what not! He is real fun to hang out with (we also love him cz he clicked very nice pics of us) He helped us chalk out our days so that we make the most of trip. Introduced us to his mom's yummy honey, we took 2 bottles home :) Achala has magic hands ! We enjoyed every authentic kumauni meal she prepared. Left us licking our fingers, craving for more. Gargi and her smile used to bring a smile on our faces, still does! We celebrated new year with them and it was our best one yet. We felt like we were home❤️ This is a lovely family, they are very welcoming and this is an amazing property. It was a fabulous experience. We definitely wish to come back here soon :)”
Naval officers abode in the Himalayas aptly named . After spending years in the beauty of coastal land and lapping in the sea and with it its infinite beauty ,a naval couple decided to build something in the Himalayas - their first love. It had to be serene, peaceful , with a garden, high but not too much, cool but not cold, homely and warm, in wilderness but connected, green but not a jungle. They searched and searched & finally found a place and built their dream cottage.
“We stayed at Mr. Raghavendra's cottage for 8days and had an absolutely amazing time ! The cottage is amazing and pictures don't do real justice. We had to stay put at the cottage only due to home quarantine rules, but the cottage and views are so nice, that we did not mind at all ! The place is like a birds paradise and had undiluted view of mountains and valleys. Ganesh was an amazing help and his food made the stay so much more enjoyable. And, Mr.Raghavendra was super super helpful throughout. He had already connected with the Village heads before confirming the booking, which gave us a lot of confidence to stay with peace in these times. Would definitely go back to spend more time without”
