Old Rectory House

VickyRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We stayed at Old Rectory house with a large group of friends and had the most wonderful long weekend. The house looks amazing in the pictures but was even more impressive in person. There was so much space available to us all from 8 double bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, multiple sitting rooms, cinema room, games room, massive kitchen, swimming pool and hot tub. All of which is still nothing compared to fabulous views which we spent many hours admiring from the spacious terrace and garden. If this wasn’t already enough, Stuart and Sharon were the most caring hosts ensuring we had everything we could want before and during our stay, even our own piano performance! Thank you for letting us create unforgettable memories at Old Rectory, we can’t wait to stay with you again.

Old stone estate building, Gardeners Cottage

Really charming space - honestly it could do with a touch of modernisation but actually once you are settled it is really really lovely. It is really quiet and the views out of the window are just glorious. The linen is immaculate and I slept so well. Excellent host and communicator. Would go back for sure.

Country house in 5 Acres now with hot tub!

JohnRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful house in a lovely setting. As you'd expect, not a lot of entertainment immediately locally outside of the house other than walks (be warned footpaths are not maintained and impassible in places) but you don't book a place like this if you want hustle and bustle. Pool, hot tub and fire pit all great. Games room is in a separate building to the main house and so wasn't used as much as perhaps otherwise could have. Hosts are great and very welcoming, but they do live right next door which might not be everyone's cup of tea. It wasn't a big issue for us and we were left to our own devices. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Hosts very accommodating if required and good communication 👍

Vale Wild Cherry - Farm with stunning views

VivRating, 5 stars3 days ago
beautiful views and with the upside house layout it made the most of this. Working farm, but very quiet. Although you didn't feel you needed to tell children to be quiet all the time. Pool and hot tub were great additions, and my girls loved spending time in there. I possibly read the desciption wrong, but I hadn't realised before that the washing machine was shared and only available when the pool was. It worked for us and was fine, I just needed to be more organised! Danielle was very quick to respond to all messages and communicated really well with any info we needed. Lovely to meet her at the start to put a face to the name. Would definately recomend and hope to come again. Ideal to travel the half hour to the Hay festival!
A spacious spa room features a well-maintained hot tub with jet seats, surrounded by large windows that offer scenic views of the countryside. Soft lighting enhances the tranquil ambiance, and a wooden ceiling adds warmth to the interior space.

I stayed here with 7 others for a chilled, relaxed night away from home and that’s what it proved to be! The heated pool was well used and an awesome feature in the cosy extension. Plenty of space to sleep everyone and had everything you needed. I stayed here with friends but I feel like it would also be perfect for a get away with the kids too. One thing that wasn’t advertised greatly was the view you get to experience in the morning, it’s stunning. Thanks for having us and helping us out with some fresh sausages and bacon in the morning!
