This 1825 cottage is located in the heart of historic Perryville, KY right along the Chaplin River. The Perryville Battlefield, Centre College in Danville, and historic Harrodsburg, KY are all just minutes from the house. The Mud House has all of the original character and details ranging from exposed floor joists and mud insulation to original poplar floors and gingerbread trim. You will feel as though you’ve stepped back in time, but with all of the modern amenities!
“This house is so very cute. The stylistic touches were very sweet. The chandeliers all added a nice touch. The town is small and sleet, but packed with history. We loved evening walks through town and met the owner of the local Coffee shop who was absolutely fantastic. We learned a lot of history and had fun riding the back roads and hills of the surrounding area by bicycle. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.”
Lake house with beach theme, lots of wood, country feel. 45 min away from Lexington and Frankfort. Hour away from Louisville. Small town of Burgin with a great Dairy Barn is 4 min away and only 8 min from Danville and Harrodsburg. Danville has the Ephraim McDowell Medical Center. Fort Harod state park and Shaker Village are 8 min away. Many docks where you can rent pontoons and other boats. Place to put in kayaks and swim. Use the exercise equipment, hot tub and infrared sauna!
“Mikes place is exactly as advertised. The place is clean, beds are extremely comfy, and it has everything you need for an enjoyable trip. With a ping pong table, pool table, air hockey, bags, a sauna, workout room, hot tub, and a large amount of other board games the home offers something for everyone! Mike was extremely quick to respond for any inquiries we had. Definitely somewhere I will be returning to/will recommend to others.”
I invite you to take a step back in time while experiencing the comfort and appeal of today in the charming atmosphere of a mid-1800’s original log cabin right in town. There is a large backyard complimented by a grazing hillside and a stream that separates the two. A truly unique setting. And, enjoy a large patio and fire pit to enhance your relaxation at the end of the day.
“Sue is absolutely fantastic, she answered so quickly and was kind enough to mail us a bracelet we had left although we offered to pay for postage she said not to worry about it. Sue had two heart shaped chocolate chip cookies waiting for us and a sweet little note beside it. Her hospitality is top knotch! Not sure if I missed this or had forgotten but this home is on 2 floors and we were pleasantly surprised. There's plenty of parking and land available to enjoy nature. She has chairs where you can have a seat and enjoy your tea/coffee. Her price for everything offered is incredible. There was an abundance of snacks, coffee, tea and she even provided breakfast we were able to bake in the morning. The bed is soooooo comfortable, I didn't want to leave. I loved the quilted blanket . The rug in the kitchen and the antique shoes right before the steps are such nice touches. Everything is so nice and clean and she had extra toothbrushes which we really appreciated. My only issue was the shower doesn't get that hot but it's a great place to stay so it makes up for it. :) There's a living room with a TV and the bedroom has a TV as well, great graphics and plenty of options including NetFlix. All in all a 5 star stay and it is close to antique stores and other places of interest within walking distance.”
