Rita’s place is amazing! The house is great and spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay - all the amenities as well as kitchen and table wear appliances, and the environment is very peaceful and quiet, just what we intended. We went with our dog and he was crazy happy! Rita and Miguel are very nice and responsive, great hosts!

5 stars across the board, Jesse's Airbnb was exactly as described. Beautiful surroundings, extremely peaceful and private. Jesse provided numerous local recommendations that we wouldn't have been aware of, from hikes, to restaurants and wine tasting, many of which we took advantage of. Jesse was also the most responsive Airbnb host I've ever experienced (both using my account and staying with friends/family on their accounts), even arranging for electrical adapters to be delivered within an hour after I mentioned we'd forgotten ours at the airport. If visiting Portugal I would highly recommend the Douro Valley, and if so, definitely stay at Jesse's Airbnb. We will definitely be back!

What can I say about this place and the location...Wow, absolutely amazing! The host was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. I do recommend listening to other views and not go at night. We did this mistake and were lost for an hour before we found it. However, please don't stop going for that reason, because it is worth every minute. My husband and I were very enchanted with this place!!! Thank you to Sr Hernâni for allowing us to stay in his lovely house.

You must stay here and must take the wine tour! My husband and I had a fantastic time tasting several wines as well as learning the history of the Duoro Valley and production process of the wines. The family that owns the property are so kind, so friendly and helpful. We were provided detailed directions that made finding the property super easy and surprised to a basket of bread, jam and milk. They have the most adorable dog and cats. Also, the wine is delicious! We only bought two bottles home but would have got more if not for luggage space. The apartment was super clean with an unbeatable view. We enjoyed wandering throughout the vineyard admiring the many fruit trees and scenery. Out of the many places we stayed during our ten days in Portugal, Quinta Barqueiros Duoro was my favorite. I hope to return soon and stay longer than one night. Highly recommend!

Our hosts were absolutely wonderful. They had maps and suggestions for touring the valley and they made sure we were warm in the fall weather.

A truly memorable stay in a quintessential small Douro valley village. The place is as described and a true gem. The dinner paired with wines was a highlight of our stay as was the company. Highly recommend. Beware however that cell service as you enter the remote hamlet with very narrow lanes may be lost rendering your gps useless. Luckily we found service near the church and Jet came and escorted us to her place which is not the easiest to find.

Wow!! Stunning, stunning accommodation! Excellent and responsive communication from the hosts. We appreciated the early checkin. The welcome honey and other drinks received were very tasty. The house was easy to find with Rafael’s instructions and checkin was seamless. Everything was spotless with all needed amenities. It was fantastic to have BBQ’s with the river back drop or just to sit and enjoy the awesome environment. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. Definitely recommended, without any hesitation.

We spent 3 wonderful days at the Mill House, serenaded by the river just outside the window. The cottage is very cute and has everything you need to enjoy your stay, including WiFi. Our dogs loved paddling in the water and the long walks along the river. Francisca and Henrique were very kind hosts. Even though it was harvest time they made time to bring us figs from the garden and recommend some great restaurants. We took a convertible car which is very low to the ground and had no problems with the roads or parking. This really is a place to wind down and enjoy nature but you can get into the town of Lamego for a big supermarket and great restaurants in only 15 minutes drive. We would love to stay again and will recommend it to friends.
