Alison’s place was perfect for two young families. Incredible location, so central to the shops and an easy stroll to the estuary. The house is really well equipped. We had the best time on a spontaneous trip to the bay of islands and staying at Peter & Jacqueline’s beautiful place. It was very comfortable with 4 adults and 2 kids. Peter and Jacqueline were exceptional host, there is nothing they have not thought about. Beds are comfortable, stunning views and great location for exploring.

We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone. The location is easy to find and nestled in nature near the beach. We really enjoyed access to the spa. It is quiet and relaxing and a nice place to get away from the noise and busyness. If we had more time we would have stayed longer. The hosts are helpful and responsive.

A beautiful and comfortable space, perfect for a group of four. The kitchen was well-equipped with high-quality utensils, and the hot tub was a fantastic addition. The only thing that could improve would be extending the time limit on the hot tub use—after a long day exploring Cape Reinga, arriving back and not being able to relax in the hot tub after 9 pm feels a bit restrictive. Other than that, the accommodation was absolutely perfect.

What can I say about this paradise? the pictures certainly will catch your eye more than anything I can say. Anneke was very helpful and friendly and her lovely home was exactly as she described it. Being able to hear the waves crash, and the birds chirping, and seeing all the stars at night were some of my favorite things! It is a great place to stay as a baseball of operations for exploring Northland New Zealand! We hope to be back someday!

We recently had a great stay at Sixteen Jandals. Travelling as a family of our with a dog. Everything was as described. Lots of space to relax. A fantastic bach with water views, located in a great location to Russell town. Karen and Craig were great hosts, answered all our questions in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend.

Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

The directions to get there should read… where the tar seal ends, the road splits into a Y. Take the road to the right. You do not carry on driving after the tar seal ends. Otherwise everything was lovely and the view is amazing.

Maggie's place is fabulous. My friend and i booked last minute and were pleased that Maggie's place was available. The house is a great size and has all the amenities. It is spotless, has a wonderful garden and a short walk to the estuary where you can wander, tide dependent, along the coast or sit and check out the birds and the view. Maggie and her husband were nice and helpful. The house is a short drive to Waipu, where you can find a few restaurants and a pub. If I'm back in Waipu, I'd love to stay at Maggie's place again.

Had such a lovely and restful stay at Chris and Garth’s place. I really enjoyed sitting and relaxing in their beautiful gardens which are just outside the kitchen door. The bed was comfy and the place had all the amenities you could need. The location of their place is excellent, especially with the rainbow falls walking track being just across the road. Whole area was nice and quiet too, so was able to get a good rest. Would love to have stayed longer! Thanks again Chris and Garth for an awesome stay :)

We had a wonderful weekend away at Rose’s place. Just wish we could have stayed longer. A very cosy cottage in the backyard of Rose’s house, but still made to feel private. As a family of four we enjoyed dining at the outdoor table. Best bits were being able to bring our dog, who could roam free securely in the fully fenced section; and also being on a stunning beach in less than minute’s walk from the house. Pataua North is a very nice, relaxed collection of beach houses, a far cry from some of the busy beach communities you come across elsewhere. We’ll be back 🙏

We loved staying at Margaret and Lou’s. We didn’t get to meet Margaret but met her husband Lou and daughter Kay who were both so lovely. The villa was exactly as described with a beautiful view. It was spotlessly clean and provided everything we needed. It is within walking distance of the township so were able to leave our car for the duration of our stay. We definitely recommend staying here.

Me and my friend came to NZ on a fishing trip from Australia. We had a great time staying at Tea’s place. The location was unreal and Tea provided us with access to kayaks which meant we were able to explore the place. Caught a few nice fish too. Will be back! Thanks Tea!

We were six couples who had a thoroughly enjoyable break from city life for 5 days. Used it as a base to do day trips to go fishing, trip to Cape Reinga and Kerikeri. Big comfortable home and friendly responsive host

A Perfect Weekend Getaway! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming property! The location was serene and offered a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The accommodation itself was better than the photos let on, immaculately clean, and provided all the comforts we could have asked for. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and ensured that our stay was as pleasant as possible. We enjoyed the room and dinner service on occasion and the food hit the spot! We especially loved the views of the harbour, spa bath and remoteness. It truly felt like a home away from home. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. We can't wait to return! Thanks so much!

Hosts were super lovely and accommodating. They live right across the driveway and the pool is technically in their front gate but we had complete access and privacy. Host were lovely and going out of their way to make our stay awesome I.e. getting the kayaks ready for us, late check out, local recommendations etc. Would 100% book again and considering it :).

This is very nice place to stay. A quiet area with some good walks. My situation was a little different as I wasn't on holiday and wanted somewhere quiet and reasonably close to the hospital where I was visiting my husband each day. The property is off the road and there are auto gates. As I was on my own this made me feel very safe - on top of which Genevieve was in the main house a lot of the day. It was comfortable and cosy (given my stay was during the winter) and Genevieve and her husband went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Thoroughly recommend and if I ever need to be in Whangarei for any length of time I hope I can use this accommodation again.

We had a fantastic stay at Pacific Rendezvous, there were lots of amenities on site and beautiful walks we could access straight from our accomodation. The staff were friendly and the apartment was comfortable and gad everything we needed. We would love to visit again!

Great location,and easy walk around the corner to the shops, restaurants, and great coffee. The Microwave had just failed, but, no problems, the host kindly dropped off a spare one.
