Really helpful host and lovely location!

Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Amazing stay at Gatehouse Barn. It is a really lovely, homely, welcoming place to stay. Plenty of sleeping options downstairs and up and a cosy living space. Also loads of seating areas outside which were perfect to enjoy the sun. The area is really quiet and peaceful and the location of the barn is extra secluded and private. As a final bonus, the attached spa area was a real treat after long walks (loads of which can start literally from the front door).

A lovely place to stay! Host was very helpful and friendly. Had an amazing field nearby for kids and dogs. Would recommend!

We stayed at this lovely cottage for just one night and had such a wonderful, relaxing time. The place was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had a warm, homely feel from the moment we arrived. The hot tub and garden area were fantastic touches—perfect for unwinding—though sadly the heavy rain meant we couldn’t enjoy them as much as we would’ve liked. That said, the weather didn’t dampen our mood or take away from what was a truly peaceful stay at this little gem. In fact, it was lovely listening to the rain and watching it out of the window with a glass of wine in hand! We’ll definitely be back—hopefully under sunnier skies! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Absolutely loved my 2 night stay, felt like I was in complete luxury ✨️ Was spotless, modern, amazing bathroom & facilities! Bed was so comfortable, hot tub was easy to heat, the little on site pub was brilliant fun!

Beautiful location for a lovely farm stay, great views from the hot tub! Loved being able to watch the cows and sheep. Claire was lovely and was ready to help at any moment despite us arriving so late at night! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We stayed at Bruce and Anita’s beautiful cottage and from start to finish their communication was excellent.. on arrival Anita had baked some beautiful whole meal bread and had bought us a lovely chocolate cake , and we were welcomed by lovely music on the Alexa .. Archie our Airedale terrier also loved the treats they left for him . The cottage was enchanting , pristine a beautiful enclosed garden for Archie and had everything we needed for our 3 day stay .. the views were breathtaking and it was so peaceful , quiet and the village and river were within walking distance. Hubby is a keen birdwatcher and enjoyed the conversation with Anita about all the birds within the location and was impressed they had 7 swift bird boxes .. Anita , Bruce and their beautiful dogs ( 3 rough collies) cottage comes highly recommended and we hope to revisit soon x Thankyou

The cottage was beautiful, very clean and had everything you need to feel like home from home. The area is very easy to get to but feels like you are deep in the countryside. Will definitely return on my next trip to UK. 10/10

If you are looking for a week off-grid then we would definitely recommend the Hemmel, it was everything we needed and more. Our favourite bits were the views, the peacefulness, and the red squirrels running across the stone wall in the garden! We can’t wait to come back again and explore more of Northumberland. Kate was an excellent host who was extremely helpful and very friendly. We based our plans off her comprehensive local guide folder and filled the rest of the time with the wide variety or board games, books, and DVDs!

Alison is a delightful lady. So kind and helpful. Her cottage ( we stayed in Jemima Puddleduck) was very comfortable. Beds and pullows especially and all spotlessly clean. All we needed was provided Alison had thought of everything. We had a fantastic week. Thank you.

Beautiful cottage in a fab location. Great local pub with excellent chips, and easy to drive/walk to local attractions and walks. The cottage was charming, and very nicely decorated. We spent ages sitting in the lovely warm conservatory which was very welcome as the weather was very changeable. The bed was very comfortable and linen smelled lovely. Very quiet location and our little dog loved watching the birds in the garden.

Spent a relaxing long weekend in Helen’s lovely cottage. Helen is a great host making us feel extremely welcome and provided everything we needed, even toys for the dog! Sitting in the lounge and looking out the large window watching her stunning horses, a million rabbits and partridges chasing each other was the highlight for our dog who made himself at home the moment we arrived. The garden is a rare perfectly enclosed dog friendly garden, first time we have felt relaxed about letting our dog off knowing he couldn’t get out and wander. This makes a huge difference. Good location to go exploring Cumbria and Northumberland. Plenty facilities within a short distance. We were lucky to witness the most amazing electrical storm whilst there, was out of this world. ( Helen slept through it so we gave her a video of it 🙈) Would recommend this great little place whether you use it as a stop over ( 10 mins from the M6) or to spend a few days to switch off and relax. Rose Cottage is a truly wonderful place to stay. We had a fantastic break with our two dogs and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and well-equipped home base. Jo has thought of every detail—from the exceptionally well-stocked kitchen for home-cooked meals, to the shelves filled with books, board games, and a brilliant selection of hiking guides to help you plan your next adventure. The beds are incredibly comfortable, which is a real treat after a day out walking. If you’d rather take it easy, the garden offers the perfect spot to unwind. The location is excellent, with scenic walks right from the doorstep and easy access to the touristy spots in the Lakes. Caldbeck has everything you might need, a great pub, a couple of charming cafés, a local shop, and more. Jo and Chris are truly inspiring hosts. It was a joy to hear about their adventures and journey with Rose Cottage. They were also incredibly generous with their time, going above and beyond when our car broke down.

Lovely place, the weather was great, enjoyed sitting outside with the views and a pint. All great inside apart from, low ceiling upstairs, but managed not to bang my head. M and A great hosts.

The house had everything we needed! The kitchen very well equipped and clean. Beds very comfortable and the rooms spacious. It is very centrally located to Hadrien’s Wall and museums. Christine texted she would be turning the heat up for us as it was cold and rainy prior to our arrival. Very thoughtful of her, as well she left us some items to start off our stay. We are coming. back next year and hopefully we will be able to stay here again. We would highly recommend!

4 of us stayed at Penny's for 3 nights. Great stay-walkable to center of village-15 minute walk to Booth's (grocery). Fully stocked kitchen/Everything was super clean. Penny is great host.

A great host and The Old Pie Shop was a quiet and relaxing place to stay with everything you need. Totally recommend staying here if visiting Bellingham & the surrounding area.

Sensational stay, Anita the owner incredibly accomodating. Amazing location and home. In Cumbria for family wedding. Everything catered for. Easy to travel with train station a 5 min stroll. 2 x pubs close by and lovely village green. Riverside walks and beautiful countryside. Peaceful, tranquil and I’ll definitely be back!

We had the most amazing stay at The Byres in beautiful Northumberland! The house itself was really well equipped, had a wonderfully comfortable living space and plenty of areas for the different members of our family to please themselves! Everything was immaculate, and well-presented; and we had some lovely time relaxing out in the garden when the sun emerged! A highlight of our trip was wending our way through the sheep and lambs each time we ventured out to explore the area, it felt like a privilege to share space with them for the week! Linda was the perfect host, so helpful and communicative - and we definitely would love to stay at The Byres again, maybe at a time of year where we can enjoy those dark skies!

Staying here was lovely - for a group of us catching up who like to walk and had the addition of a dog & toddler this house was ideal. Plenty of space, clean and quiet. Really lovely and would stay again.

The barn ist very beautiful furnished and full of great ideas how to relax including everything you need for that. Everything is prepared to feel welcomed and gorgeous. We had a great time even sitting outside and Jenny and Chris were very helpful! We hope to come back and can highly recommend the cosy barn.
