OME桜梅庵omean tinyhouse designer's hideaway

ArthurRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Beautiful home. We love everything about this little hideaway. It is a calm, inspiring space that is impeccably designed with high-quality furniture. We slept very well on the traditional futons in the tatami room and had delicious green tea every morning. The hot bath and good heating system kept us warm and cozy. We really enjoyed the location: on the edge of Tokyo, close to nature. The walks across the river and the climbing near Mitake were delightful. We found several compelling cafes nearby. Our host, Kumi-san, is very kind, thoughtful, and gracious. She made a point to connect with us and made our stay all the more fulfilling. We are very lucky to have found the hideaway in Ome, and we are excited to return!

Our stay with Hiroko was wonderful! It is a clean space in a beautiful neighborhood. The train station is only a 10 minute walk from Hiroko’s place and the DT line connects you to virtually anywhere. Bonus: it’s 7 minute train ride to Shibuya. Hiroko was very responsive and kind. She went out of her way to meet us on the first night and then showed us her place and asked if we had any questions about where things were!

Great house and great host. he leaves you with the necessities and is flexible. The house is 5 stars; just wanted to warn others that come during the week... it is not easy to find restaurants that are open, especially for dinner. Also, of you are walking, it is far: we did the walk several times and didn't bother us much, but thought someone else might want to know. None of this is against the house or the host, just want to ensure you know what you're getting yourself into.
