Farmstay vacation rentals in Northern Vietnam

Sapa Soul was our favorite place we’ve stayed in Vietnam! Since we are a group of three we stayed in the family room with rice field view, and waking up to watch the sunrise over rice fields from a comfy bed (with a heating pad!) was a highlight of our trip. Rooms and bathrooms were modern and the beds were sooooo comfy. I could have spent a whole extra day just reading with that view. You will definitely be a part of the family, prepare to play with a lot of legos! We went on a trek organized by Oanh and it was a beautiful and authentic way to learn about the local cultures. And to end our trip, Oanh even helped bring our bags into town as she was driving that way and our backpacks took up a lot of space on the motorbikes. You definitely won’t regret staying at Sapa Soul!

Although I stayed only a couple nights, I felt lucky to peek into Gioi and his family's life amongst the cinnamon trees. The sound of a breeze passing through the leaves is truly special. Dinners (with the family and/or with other travelers) were a generous spread of dishes, with vegetables from the garden. It seems ideal to stay a bit longer to really experience the depth of the nature and local culture through Gioi's tours, but I still enjoyed wandering through the village and forest. Gioi helped me arrange a xe ôm to my next destination, which was greatly appreciated!

What a wonderful stay we had with my two daughters! We were welcomed as if we were part of the family. The place is peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Kua was always attentive to us and helped us with our organization for visiting the surroundings. The house is located 20/30 minutes drive from the wonders of Ninh Binh. Kua's parents can either take you for a motorcycle ride around the area, or you can also rent bikes from them. It is 10/15 minutes from a very beautiful pagoda to visit away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. Each meal shared with Kua's parents was a real pleasure of flavors and a beautiful moment of sharing! I was able to learn how to make tofu. 🥰 Being a bit far from supermarkets, remember to bring your favorite snacks just in case 😄 For an immersion in Vietnamese culture, this is the perfect place. It's a lovely family🌸🫶🏽. I miss them already…. Thanks again for all this beautiful shared energy see ❤️ you soon I hope

The homestay is a traditional thai tilt house made by wood. It's basic, mattresses on the floor, but comfy enough to enjoy the experience of living on a traditional house. The host, Cuc, speak English perfectly and she is so helpful. It's perfect if you go on a big group and then you can rent the full house (10-12 people), otherwise I guess you will need to share with other guests or Cuc might arrange a bungalow for you. The facilities are OK and the restaurant serves local home made food. Around the house there are other wood houses with restaurants and it's near an esplanade with food stands and locals having fun, which was very fun to experience as well.

Mama Z is so lovely and her husband is as well! She is so sweet and made such delicious meals for us. By far the best food we’ve eaten since being in Vietnam. She also took us trekking! The surrounding area is stunning! The accommodation is very simple. Hot shower which was nice. Only thing is the beds were really hard. But overall would recommend Mama Z if you’re wanting to have an authentic experience! Thank you so much for everything!

This place is quite new. The decoration and the view are great. To be honest, it is beyond our expectation. Mr Manh is very friendly. He, the other guests and we had a drink besides the fire at night. Thanks to Mr Manh because of this amazing memory.

Ba Be lake exceeded my expectations with its natural beauty surounded by mountians the village is so quiet and the homestay nicely located with views over looking one of the streems running to the lake and rice fields and close to a sports area for badminton and volleyball witch i joinded in with the locals and other visitors for games each afternoon. The homestay was clean and comfortable the food great and more than i could eat and the local rice wine was pretty tasty compared to the comercil stuff. Did a boat cruise down one of the rivers feeding into the lake that flows through a cave under a mountain befor entering the lake where they stopped the boat to let us swim over to a small island. With barriers set up on the roads to keep trucks off the roads in and around the area its a great place to walk cycle or hire a moto to explore the other small villages creeks caves. When i left after 3 days i was thinking this is a place id like to spend a week or two at.

We had an amazing time at Little House with Nga and her lovely family. The Little House they have built is beautiful, peaceful and comfortable. Nga and Dung were perfect hosts and made us feel like part of the family - taking us around the village to meet their friends and celebrate the national holiday, and inviting us to eat with them in the evening. The food was the best we have had in Vietnam and from the house we were able to do lovely hike and paraglide across the stunning valley. We will recommend to all our friends!

I have just checked out today, and I am glad that I have booked green FarmStay for 6 people. this is awesome place, far from city and surrounded by farms and mountains. This place is much more beautiful than what host have described in post. this is 2 acre farm hous with 2 big bedrooms, 1 drawing room and 1 kitchen. plus an open kitchen and 3 different dining area. They have 24/7 person stay at entry of house to help you anytime. they provide daily breakfast for free. this stay was awesome and I recommend everyone to Stay here only.

Coung was extremely friendly and always responded to our messages within a minute. The accommodation exceeded our expectations: You have a beautiful view of the river, the food was incredibly delicious (especially the spring rolls) and our cute little room had everything we needed. Coung and his family were always very friendly and helpful in organising taxis, scooters, the bus on departure and he also gave us tips when planning activities. Overall, the stay was one of our best on our trip through Vietnam and we would come back in a heartbeat.

Views were incredible and the house was located in a beautiful village with good restaurants, cafes and bars. Host was very attentive

Do not be scared by the distance from Sa Pa Town because it is definitely worth it. Even tho the village itself is a bit remote, there's nice restaurants and cafes nearby. I think it is an especially good location if you like hiking or just quiet, it's perfect to unwind after a long day of activities. They also offer trekking tours. There is a lot of nice nature around and the house sits quite literally in the rice terraces. You can either walk to the city (around 2,5h/8km) which is not a challenging way at all, with lots of cafes and little stores on the way, or you go by taxi (300k each way, around 20minutes drive) It is also possible to rent a motorbike or borrow a bicycle. Worth mentioning is that if you're a weakling like me when it comes to insects it is advisable to set up the provided mosquito net right away, to not have any surprises at night. I tried setting it up on the 2nd night and there was a roachlike creature INSIDE the net. I almost died.

We had a great and very authentic time staying with Muôn and his family. After our arrival by bus in Sapa we were picked up after asking the host for a possibility. We were greeted very nicely, every morning there was breakfast and we could talk very well with Muôn, his English is great and we learned a lot about the area and life there. The food cooked by his wife is really incredibly delicious. Since we were there for Têt Fest, we had the opportunity to visit other relatives with the family and unforgettable insight into the traditions. We also got some tips for things to do in the area. It was really nice and time alone is of course as much as you want. Thank you :)

Our stay at Nan house was spectacular. The hosts were extremely friendly and provided great recommendations as well as helped us book transportation to get to anywhere we needed to go. The location was a short walk away from the Main Street of Tam Coc. Bicycles were available and free to use. We also enjoyed a daily herbal foot bath and a delicious daily breakfast made by the hosts. Overall a great homestay to choose if you want to explore Tam Coc and the surrounding areas.

Great welcome in these beautiful little brick houses overlooking rice fields and mountains. Very relaxing, quiet (when the neighbor does not decide to sing 😉 his favorite karaoke very, very strong). 5 minutes from the center on foot!

If you want the Vietnamese experience, look no further. Mr Hoan and his family provide an excellent place to stay, outstanding food, and great hospitality. With a choice between private rooms, or a shared larger room with individual beds separated by curtains, anyone can stay here on a budget or not. Dinner was excellent, and the home-made rice wine was to die for. His family is very welcoming, and you feel right home with them. I could not have asked for a better place to stay!

This homestay is amazing! In Viet Hai village, a traditional Vietnamese village in the middle of a national park. The homestay is gorgeous and Hai and Chilly were helpful, professional, and friendly. The food provided was delicious and the village and surrounding park are bucolic. I recommend this place wholeheartedly!

This is a great place to stay out of the busyness of Sa Pa town. The room is beautiful and the views are amazing. If you arrive early or leave later than checkout time, there are restrooms and showers in the common area which is very convenient. The lodge offers hiking tours with local guides and we loved ours. Definitely not easy as described, but I'm glad we did it :) The swimming pool and all lounge area are a great plus. We didn't feel the need to leave the place on the days we wanted to rest. The staff is very caring and makes sure you have everything you need. There is also a spa to recharge after a long travel or trekking.

Nice place, clean, WiFi wasn’t the best at night

We loved our stay at Amanda villas. We booked 3 nights but ended up with 2 as our flight had been delayed. Le communicated very well about this. it is a 10 mins walk into the main part of Tam Coc. We also found that the Bich Dong Pagoda is about 1 km in the opposite direction and a nice walk across the fields. Breakfast was fairly simple but more than good enough and a mix of plain baguettes with filled ones, various fruits and other small breakfast items. plenty of coffee and milk/ condensed milk. The rooms are beautiful and all beds were bigger than expected.
