“While my expectations were high for Mark & Jo Anna's Bluebird cottage, my stay there exceeded all of them. The cottage was immaculate, thoughtfully decorated, cozy, and peacefully and perfectly equipped. I would look at any nook or corner and find something beautiful or useful or both. To be a single mom and receive fresh baked bread and muffins when I woke up, brought a joyful tear to my eye. When I arrived, I had been tense, trailing clouds of tension and anxiety, but I slept wonderfully, walked a lot and was truly restored. The landscape was a feast of green and pine and flowers. The information about spots to swim was voluminous and articulate. In essence, there was nothing that was not perfect at this Air BnB. I have already booked my nest stay there. A true, restorative gem run by kind and creative souls.”
Cozy cottage on a beautiful forested property with ample space for 2 people. Kitchenette and bathroom, plus a pool, jacuzzi, waterfall, firepit, and yoga deck. We love your pets, but there is a limit of only one dog.
“This beautiful home was an amazing little getaway for myself and my family. So much more beautiful and cozy than the pictures portray. It truly is a mini retreat. There were plenty of towels and basic shower supplies, as well as beach towels for the pool. Carole and Jay also provide fresh linen and extra blankets if needed, but there definitely was no need in July. It was warm in Nevada City during our stay but luckily they had air conditioning in the cottage. And even though the cottage is small, the Murphy bed was not only pretty comfortable, but convenient to make the living area feel more open during the day. If you plan to cook your own meals, they provide a small toaster oven, one pan plug-in electric stove, and minimal and basic cooking utensils. There is no microwave, but there is a mini fridge to store food. But there’s also plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and fast food places very close by within 10-15 minutes. The outside of the property was absolutely gorgeous. When we first arrived, Jay met us outside and gave us a tour and also showed us how to work the hot tub. He said we were welcome to use it anytime, even if it was 1 or 2 in the morning. It was great to be out there at night looking at the stars. He built a lot of the property, including the fire pit area, his music room, the treehouse, and the waterfall area. Absolutely gorgeous. Carole and Jay’s place was also 20 minutes to Yuba River which we went to multiple days. Highly recommended! Easy to get to and nice to spend the whole day there. WiFi connection and cell reception was great! My partner and I worked remotely a couple of the days with no issues whatsoever. We could work in the cottage or even outside with our laptops to enjoy some fresh air. Definitely checked a lot of boxes for us so we will be back!”

“Jason and Tania's space is stylish and adorable and perfect for a weekend with the kids or longer if it's just two of you. The bed and futon are both very comfortable; all the towels and linens and pillows are excellent. The kitchen is perfectly equipped for cooking full meals though it's so easy to eat out at some of the excellent restaurants in the area, being in that location. The space is laid out in a railroad fashion, and the bathroom is in the middle, so the space isn't so great for sharing with another couple, but with my children, 9 and 12, it worked well. Jason and Tania were warm and fun to talk to. We didn't want for anything and would definitely stay here again. Thank you both!”
