Vacation rentals in North Portage

This was the perfect place to stay when visiting Vetta Nordic Spa. Place is clean and bed is very comfortable.

Our family loved our weekend away at Kathy’s - she’s an amazing host! Always quick to respond when and if we needed her. She even left us baked goodies and snacks for check-in which was so thoughtful of her. The entire place was beautiful and clean.

Such a gorgeous property and stunning views! The main living area had views from both south and north views of the lake since it is on a point. Stocked with everything we needed. Was a lovely weekend to honour my late uncle with my family. Balsam lake was his favourite spot. We went up the weekend after the huge ice storm so the place was running on a generator, which actually stopped working for a bit but the owners were on top of it as soon as they heard. They were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again in nicer weather! 🙌🙌

Perfect peaceful cottage on the lake. So many beds available but the spaces don’t feel crowded even with many people in the house. Cozy and truly authentic cottage feel. My son felt like the bunkie was his own piece of heaven. We appreciated the outdoor amenities such as kayaks and canoe. Even on the crisp late October days we visited we enjoyed the lake, and the wood stove kept us snug in the evening. Nathan was incredibly responsive and helpful. Just a wonderful visit overall.

We met Patricia upon check-in and she had prepared the place for us in the most welcoming way. The house has such a warm cabin feeling, is super spacious and the surroundings are beautiful. The place has everything families need in terms of spaces, linens, activities, etc… We were lucky enough to enjoy the presence of a deer coming in the garden on our first night and so many other animals. Highly recommend for a quiet stay in nature in a big cottage!

My wife and I visited for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was absolutely amazing! We did day trips into South River and to Burks Falls. All of the locals we interacted with were extremely friendly. We took advantage of daily walks down to the river and embracing the sounds of nature around us. All of the amenities within the treehouse were exactly as described and we could cook just like we were at home. Mike has built a unique experience amongst the trees and it oozes his love and appreciation for the outdoors! Truly a one of a kind experience that my wife and I will return to enjoy again!

The place was nice and comfortable. Area was also kind of private and had open golf field and we took a walk along the golf road.

Sharon was an incredible host. Available 100% of the time and even managed to stay awake until midnight for us to arrive to show us around. A very sweet, loving lady who made our stay feel like home. Everything about the place was clean and tidy, along with multiple extras that were very much appreciated. My only “warning” per say would be the roof of the home. In many places such as the bedroom and bathroom, the roof is tilted on an angle. If you are a very tall person(6” or more), I would say you might hit your head a few times - as did I(5”10), but nothing to complain about, as everything was superb! Thank you Sharon!

Spacious unit with a great view of the water! Located so close to Haliburton and Minden. Located off the main highway so you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The condo has everything we needed to enjoy our stay and more. Kitchen and bathroom were very clean. Our host contacted us prior to check to provide check-in instructions - which was greatly appreciated. Parking spot is located very close to the unit. We would stay here again!
