Our suite with private bath is ideal for a couple or a small family. It's attached to the main house, but you have your own private entrance and can come and go as you please. It's roughly 220 sf total. We upgraded the bed to a Sleep Number bed for it's adjust-ability, hoping to make as many of our guests comfortable as possible. Shaded by the Austrian pine, it stays pleasant and cool in the summer heat. == TO ANYBODY TRAVELLING USING GPS == Please check my directions for the final turns
“I stayed at Marianne’s place during the pandemic, due to not being home when it was declared an emergency. I appreciated the extra cleaning she did, as I’m asthmatic and needed a safe place to stay while isolating myself on the way home. It was a nice space, and walking distance to some trails. There was enough room to do yoga inside (necessary) and enough kitchen equipment for simple meals. The hosts were great and accommodating, and I would recommend them to anyone. I had been worried about noise but due to the suite being below the patio, but it was only noisy when they were above me, which would not be a problem whatsoever if there hadn’t been a pandemic and I could’ve left all day like most travellers would. It was never loud at odd hours. So it’s great for light sleepers. The only problems I encountered were keeping the space warm, as the baseboard heaters are largely covered up and the floor is tile, the coldness seeps up from the ground. It would be lovely in summer. I remedied this by pulling the daybed out more from the wall and propping up their fan above that to blow the warm air into the room more. It worked decently enough. The other problem I encountered is their horrible neighbour, with control issues and an aggressive personality. He basically doesn’t want anyone parking in the only spot they have. He intentionally makes parking there difficult, and if you touch any corner of his property, or he thinks you did (I actually hadn’t), he will take it upon himself to yell at you. I would check with Marianne how that situation is going if you’re someone with a lot of things and you aren’t able to unload them all uphill and up stairs, or you don’t have a vehicle with a great turning radius (or the skill) that can get into their spot with the angry man’s car blocking the easy way to do so. He may yell at you anyway, as he did me, even though I hadn’t touched his space. He’s a selfish old man, and this can’t be held against the hosts. He can be avoided if you don’t need to park there. There is street parking nearby.”
Two blocks from downtown Nelson a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with lake and mountain views and hot tub. Quiet, comfortable luxurious getaway with large lake facing porch, private entrance and off-lane parking.
“Outstanding!!! One of the best experiences we’ve had using Airbnb. Little touches like good communication, nice coffee, olive oil, nice shampoo, heated bathroom floors, great kitchen appliances and utensils, close to downtown, comfy beds...the list goes on. We will definitely stay again! Thanks Lex.”
This quaint cabin is nestled between two 100+ year old barns in a rustic setting. There are two rooms with high wooden open beam ceilings making the cabin feel larger than it is. The kitchenette has a toaster oven, induction plate, teapot, coffee bodum, blender, small refrigerator; perfect for preparing simple meals. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen-size bed, SmartTV/Netflix. There is a small fenced backyard with a sitting area. We close to many wonderful activities and amenities!
“Had a really nice little stay at the 6 mile cabin. Hidden gem about a 20 minute ride out of Nelson. The cabin itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. My husband and I had a laugh figuring out the composting toliet, but once we got it it was super easy and directions are right there. Overall a very relaxing stay after a busy day out hiking and exploring Nelson. Wish we got there early enough to get some eggs at the organic farm next door!”
