Vacation rentals with a kayak in McHenry

Wonderful relaxing experience. Property and grounds were immaculate. Superb landscaping including an amazing village fire pit with incredible water features. Younger members of party enjoyed the lake with kayaks and paddle boards provided by hosts launching from good dock which included seating for us older members of party! We ate out once - Firework Kitchen excellent meal -carried in from Brenda’s once and used the splendidly well equipped kitchen and barbecue for other meals. We enjoyed a boat trip with FunTimes and delicious ice creams from the nearby dairy outlet.

The house was beautiful and so was the setting. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very spacious. The only thing disappointing was there was 8 of us and we brought steaks to grill. As nice as the house was , I was shocked at the tiny table top grill. We ran out of the small propane bottles as there were only two that were half full. I would recommend a full size grill for a house advertised as accommodating 11 people. Other than that everything was great!!

I would definitely visit with my family again. Everything was absolutely PERFECT!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Retreat. It was a very peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable experience. It was a great three nights for our winter getaway. We would like to return to stay in the summer and enjoy this place again. Definitely recommend this place.

This house was even better than the pictures and description. It’s perfect for families especially with all the amenities for young children.

Could use handicap accessible where we was but we will be coming back soon it was nice

Foxcroft was absolutely perfect. Each bedroom made you feel like you were in your own private oasis. The beds were so comfortable and cozy. The house smelled AMAZING. The couch was big enough for the whole family to relax after a day on the lake. The kitchen had top of the line appliances…that stove alone was worth the stay! Our teens loved the basement and the games giving them a great hangout spot and the bunk room was so great! The outside areas were amazing too…perfect porches to sit and have coffee or listen to the rain; plenty of firewood for the firepit; gas grill with plenty of propane; and the hot tub was perfect. There was plenty of room for yard games as well. The walk to the lake couldn’t have been easier. We also didn’t realize that this house was part of a little “village” but that made it all the cuter. Thanks for a wonderful week and for being so quick to respond anytime we had a need or question. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this again in the future!

It was an amazing weekend in this home. The kitchen, bathroom and linen closet were well stocked and we didn’t run out of anything. The house is right on the water and provided hours of free entertainment. The house contained cable, plenty of DVDs/Bluray movies, board games, and sitting space. Wisp is seconds away by car and minutes by walking. Host was responsive and understanding, even after I lost the house keys.

My friends and I booked this trip to celebrate a birthday, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The cabin, tucked away in the mountains next to the lake, was absolutely beautiful — even better than we expected. The views were stunning, the house was spotless, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The host was incredibly responsive and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. We even had the chance to go kayaking on the lake, which was such a highlight. Overall, it was an unforgettable trip, and I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Great little getaway :) My kiddos had a great time hiking the trails, playing at the beach and swimming in the pool.

I've been to many lakeside AirBnbs, but this one set the bar SO high, it'll be hard to match! The amenities were above & beyond any others-from available fishing rods, to a step stool in the powder room for the 'littles', to a huge assortment of toys for the kids, to something never mentioned but which I appreciated--dimmer switches on lights! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked - I found literally every single thing we needed. I have never felt more at home, literally, at a lakeside place! Spectacular views and vibe from deck! Watching the geese on the water daily was lovely. And he mud room was SUPER helpful to have! The well-coordinated woodsy-themed decor/blankets were much appreciated. Coffee on the deck with a cozy blanket in the morning ... mmmmm! Many thanks to Bryan & Becky for their attention to detail and helpfulness! Not only was Bryan super efficient w/communications, but I felt like I was talking to a helpful friend, not just a host.

Just like the pictures, this lakeside cottage is lovely. Great setting and views. Very nicely decorated and very well equipped. Susan was an outstanding host.

I stayed at this AirBnb while I was attending Geowoodstock to be away from the crowds. I love a quiet, serene spot and this was just perfect. Super clean and peaceful with everything I could have needed. So happy that I found this sweet house and spent my nights here. Thank you!!

Very comfortable. Clean and comfy beds. Beautiful surroundings. Lake is calming. Fishing and kayaking available. Golf grounds are well kept. Calm and serene. Stars so clear.

We had a great long weekend here. Great place for families and the cabin was great for our 2 little kids. They loved the bunk beds and all the outdoor activities. Kayla and Carmen are very helpful and responsive to any and all of my messages to them. Would definitely come back again!

Great mountain getaway. Enjoyed the backyard. Towns of Davis and Thomas nearby have fabulous small town feels.

Stayed at the Country Acres Retreat for an extended weekend trip with some old college friends for our annual golf trip, it was an incredible stay! The pictures don’t do the cabin enough justice and there was so much to do onsite without ever needing to leave the property. Ken was extremely responsive with all of our questions leading up to the trip. 10/10 for the amenities, spacious layout, private pond out back for kayaking/fishing, and being so close to the heart of DCL, yet having a secluded feel.

We loved the property and Shea was extremely easy to connect with. The home and surrounding landscape were very secluded and serene. The bed was more comfortable than most hotels and everything in the home was neat and clean. We took advantage of being able to purchase extra firewood and loved sitting by the camp fire. We really loved it there and hope to return someday! We highly recommend this property and host!

When our plans shifted a little bit, Cameron was so helpful as we figured out how to adapt our plans. We appreciated it so much. The cabin is delightful and the view is stunning. We loved the coziness, the jacuzzi, and the beautiful deck overlooking the mountains and the wetlands that make Canaan so unique. Absolutely wonderful stay.

We loved this home! It looks out at a beautiful lake and is surrounded with trees. Very private. The hot tub was fantastic. Looked out on lake as well. We loved loved loved the couches. They were the type that had buttons to position yourself as cozy as you wanted. The wood burning fireplace is wonderful so snuggled on the couch with a blanket in front of the fire reading a book. The best! There are 3 of them so everyone gets their space. We were there during a blizzard but the community plowed very quickly. Connie and Kimberly were the perfect host. We loved our two night stay! We felt right at home. It was so relaxing outside with the outdoor seating, hot tub, soaking tube inside, and all the little extras! The location was perfect for what we were in town for close to restaurants, shopping, state park, history, and Fallingwater. We will definitely be back!
