Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Matara

We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return. I can’t speak highly enough about the team working at Eraeliya, everyone is so professional and welcoming. We were looked after so well by Sadan and Rex for our entire stay, which only enhanced our trip at this beautiful place.

They treat me like a son , first time I take a long trip by myself , Amazing breakfast , delicious fruits and juice ! The staff it’s just amazing ! They make sure their clients are happy ! I will Come back again to this place ! I’m sorry for the other business , once you know coco nut surf inn you might not want to stay somewhere else . Surfing easy at only 20m from the house , 3 waves to choose !!PARAdise. Is the right word for what I had here .

The accommodation was great and clean and in the centre of the town, near the see. South was nice and helpful.

This guesthouse is a fabulous find ! If you are looking for somewhere in Mirissa that is quiet, well-run and offers excellent value for money, then look no further Modesha and her family run their guesthouse with love and affection. I felt welcomed in from the moment I arrived and cared for until the moment I left. The location is an oasis from the crowds of Mirissa; the rooms, with en-suite bathrooms, are spacious and clean and the breakfast is a real treat. Highly recommended !

Terrific room close to the beach, and very friendly host who welcomes you with a delicious breakfast each morning. It can get a little too warm in the room on hot days/evenings, but they do have a ceiling fan which helps to offset this a little. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for value on a budget! :)

This awesome house is run by a very sweet family who are easy to communicate with and always do their best to help. The location is in a very green and quiet area away from the hustle and bustle with a beautiful Buddhist temple and green rice fields nearby with lots peacocks (and all kinds of birds) around. I stayed at this house for two months and it has been a delight.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel, stunning sea view from the room and also cleaning of the room was a big plus! Nice staff and good breakfast. Recommend!

Ingrid's Mirissa B+B was a super choice. At first I only booked for 3 nights, but then stayed a total of 7 nights. The house is quiet, the beach or the main road are within walking distance, as is everything else in Mirissa. The accommodation is a small oasis, the garden is well maintained, the room itself offers everything you need. You can also stay here if you don't feel like surfing or exploring. The furniture are made of beautiful wood and made here in SL, no cheap plastic waste. It has all the style without being overloaded. The staff is very friendly and discreet. The breakfast is lovingly prepared and contains a small change of pace every morning. I had a great week here! Top recommendation!

We had a wonderful stay here. A beautiful hotel right on turtle bay. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful, tending to any requests. The hotel has its own spot on the beach with loungers accessible for guests, and they also don’t charge to rent out the snorkel gear for seeing the turtles. The room was very spacious and had all we needed.

Sanduras place was beautiful. A hut in the middle of the jungle. Very friendly staff and Sandura's hospitality was outstanding. Go with caution as there are alot of leaches in the rainforest.

Ingrids place is very peaceful and quiet, the beds are super comfortable and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. The rooftop is great for doing yoga and watching the sunset. Delicious breakfast with eggs, toast & fresh fruit. We really enjoyed our stay here 😊

Beautiful villa, excellently maintained. Wonderful pool and garden and a great outdoor shower! The staff Kelum and Indie were fantastic, so kind and helpful. Indie made amazing breakfast and dinner for us. The villa worked really well with our young kids. However, as per the other reviews, it’s right on the main road so walking around is a bit hectic with kids and the bar next door got pretty noisy at times.

Shamila was a fantastic host with a lovely property. She greeted us with fresh juice and made us feel right at home. Every morning she made us a wonderful breakfast with coffee and home made juice. The property was lovely and clean!

Loved staying here! The hosts were so friendly and kind. Whenever I had any issues, they were always helpful. The only downside was that it could sometimes be hard to sleep due to loud music and barking dogs outside.

I had a great stay with my parents at Sumimal resort, the location is great and you can explore Matara as well as Mirissa from this place. It is at a walking distance from the protected turtles beach. The place is clean and it is as it is in the pictures. On arrival fresh coconut water is awesome. I ate at the resort itself, home cooked traditional meal, it was delicious and I am already waiting to plan my stay again whenever I return to Sri Lanka next time. Chani and her husband are super great hosts. They’re super kind, serve a great breakfast and they also own a Spa which is right next to the Guesthouse. The surrounding is great as it is peacefully silent with some squirrels, birds and monkeys around. Next to the guesthouse is also a great yoga studio which offers a lot of classes during the day. The beach is also only a short walk away. Highly recommended!

Edwin’s was a special place - a luxurious villa with a spacious swimming pool, beautifully decorated rooms, and super friendly staff. We were the first guests at this accommodation, so prepare yourself for Western-standard quality with everything you need, combined with heartfelt Sri Lankan hospitality. We were lucky to meet the owners, who made our stay truly memorable. Thanks for having us!

had an amazing experience staying at Bathiya's place! From the moment I arrived, He made me feel incredibly welcome. The space was just as described—clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights of my trip was definitely the food! The dumplings and pancakes served at the property were absolutely delicious—highly recommend trying them. The flavors were incredible, and you can tell they were made with a lot of care. It was such a nice bonus to enjoy home-cooked meals during my stay. Bathiya went above and beyond to ensure I had a great time, offering local tips and being responsive to any questions I had. The location was perfect, with easy access to Beach and restaurants around making it the ideal spot for exploring the area. I truly appreciated Bathiya's hospitality and attention to detail. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area..
