Farmstay vacation rentals in Marco de Canaveses

It was a memorable vacation. The farm is amazing, with so many things to see and do. We'll be back for sure.

We stayed here for a few days. The house was nicely prepared, even with Wine and Snacks, so it was easy for us to feel like home. We stayed here at the end of October, so it was very quiet and we could use and fully enjoy the pool, the paddel court and the area with the animals (horses, donkey and various birds). In casa Fumeiro the bedrooms were rater small but came with very comfortable beds. The communication was easy, which made the stay pleasant as well. We would say, that a car is needed if you want get there, do shopping or explore the area. All in all we were really happy with our choice!

We loved staying at Americo’s house. It was in a stunning location with beautiful views as far as the eye can see of the Douro valley. The house sits in well loved landscaped gardens, with a lovely pool and outside sitting/eating area. There is a bonus area with fruit trees. The house is well furnished, cosy and comfortable. It was plenty of room for two small families. Our hosts were so kind and communicated well throughout the process. We did have problems locating the house, even following the instructions (Apple Maps sent us to the wrong location). But the hosts were patient. It’s a bit of a drive to go to larger sight seeing attractions and very windy for non-confident drivers. But for us it was perfect - we had all we needed in a 20 minute radius and drove to Porto for one day (it’s a 50 minute drive). The house and location is stunning and the hosts welcoming - I would definitely return and recommend to others!

We arrived on July 30 and left on September 10. We witnessed the growth and harvest of the grapes in Douro Valley! A spectacular experience. The house is a traditional Portuguese house which has been there for 300 years and which was renovated some years back. The area is spectacular particular. We are very happy and fortunate to have been able to experienced summer on Douro Valley.

Beautiful farm and house! Being able to wander the farm and pick fresh produce to cook was a highlight. If you’re looking to stay out in the country visiting Amarante, this is wonderful!

Osvaldo, Madalena and Carla, 3 super friendly and helpful hosts who provided an amazing stay, always worried about collaborating so that nothing was missing. The space is very pleasant, consisting of rustic houses on a farm in the middle of nature in an environment of tranquility perfect for those who like to relax away from the confusion of big cities. a great breakfast, a wonderful pool with great views, a waterfront river, river paths along the river, good wines, etc... All perfect! A huge thank you Osvaldo, Madalena and Carla. Well done.

We would like to thank Benedita ( and her cousin) for his kindness, warm welcome and all the good advice given. Everything that could be offered to delight us, regarding our stay in these places, was. We simply regret not speaking Portuguese to better choose our words and thus thank our host to his care for us. When we checked out, we inadvertently forgot an instant class to give Benedita the key to the accommodation, an undeniable sign of our regret at having to leave this wonderful site...

Amazing 400 year old home, has always been in the family. The outside garden and pool are beautiful and peaceful. Small town near by with good quaint restaurants . About one hour from Douro Valley by a beautiful drive through back country roads. Highly recommend it

It's been a wonderful few days, it's the perfect place to disconnect and rest. The stay was very pleasant, and we were also able to enjoy the pool every day. The surroundings are very nice and the roads are very good. Eva was very attentive to make sure everything was in order and correct. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Un sitio fántasico, are several casitas where in each one a family or a group is housed. Inside it's all new and super clean, there was a lot of kitchenware, hair dryer... etc. Each casita has a table outside. They have an area with animals and an area with a pool and sunbeds that is great. If I had to say something negative, it is that upon arrival we were asked for a security deposit of €100 that will be returned to us on the last day if everything was fine and we did not have that cash, it is important to notify us before those details. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to come back another time.

Had an amazing time at the lemon tree farm. Was very spontaneously looking for a peaceful weekend in the countryside and got exactly that. Surrounded by the beautiful smell of lemons and with super cute ponies and horses as my neighbors. Jorge was an amazing host and made everything possible even though my stay was super short notice. Would definitely visit again.

Great stay with our two dogs! The scenery is beautiful. The house full of stories. The swimming pool is a real plus. The neighborhood is very friendly. There are two many walks to do in the area and many with swimming nooks. We recommend 100%!

Graça is a fantastic host: friendly, attentive, nearby… Her house is a haven of tranquility, in a huge estate with beautiful details. The natural pool, in particular, is a luxury. However, I would say that it was best to heed his recommendation to go to dinner at the Zé de Ver. How well we eat, please!!!

We stayed with Annette and her husband's in their magnificent apartment for 4 days. The apartment is located with a great view of the area. A lovely terrace and another small area in front of the apartment where you can enjoy the view. The apartment is on two floors with everything you need. Well appointed and well-equipped kitchen. Parking right in front of the place. High quality. Annette is easy to get in touch with and helpful and very friendly.

We are really happy with our vacation… the place is simply a paradise! So much better in real life than in photos… the house is very well equipped, 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets, really everything you need (except washing machine) the garden is heavenly, very green, large, fruit everywhere, 2 swings, the pool is huge 🤩 the view is crazy, the owners are incredibly kind!! The managers always have good recommendations… frankly amazing!! We highly recommend this area, this location and meeting these people who are great! Thank you

The home is surrounded by fruit and olive trees. Has beautiful views of the valley. You can see the train passing on the other side of the valley. The home is as shown in the pictures. It is very clean and comfortable.

The stay was great. A big old house, full of history and unbeatable views. Alexandre offered us a lot of information about places to go and eat, but we opted to enjoy the house, its garden and pool. Julia was also very friendly and a good cook.

Antonio is a great gentleman and took great care of us during our short stay. This is a really historical house built with solid stones. History happened here. Unfortunately we cannot stay for the full length of our stay because the rough stone stairs and stone walls are dangerous to our crawling baby. This property is better fitted for older kids. Antonio was gracious to give us a refund on the nights and helped us to move to a new location with late checkout (very late). He is always ready to help at any time. We are grateful with all his help.

Beautiful estate nestled in the hills of the Porto area. Very nice discovery and all the ingredients present to have a good time with the family. The meeting of animals present in the estate as well as the services are real plus. Thank you so much!

I was in this house with some friends and it was wonderful. The house is superior to the description! The pool and jacuzzi are fantastic! We love the privacy and tranquility of the place, ideal for a vacation with family or friends! Fernanda was impeccable, she even made it easier for us to enter early so we could enjoy it.
