Cabin #7 - "Waugoshance" A hybrid word, combining the Anishinaabemowin word wah'goosh (fox) and the French word anse (cove). This 2 bedroom, 528 sq ft cabin is named after a nearby peninsula off the northwest coast of Michigan's lower peninsula.
“The cottage is surprisingly spacious in person, and the view outside the window is gorgeous! We went on a cold stormy weekend so we spent most of the time inside with the fire warming us and and seeing the rain meet the lake outside the window. Outside patio thats super cute and a fire pit outside with room for your own grill! Wifi was shockingly fast, only downside was that I had to re check in with my fb account half way through my stay but thats very minor. A Nice size tv, a comfortable chair and a. futon were our best friends on the trip. Definitely will be coming back!”
(NOTE: Currently Closed. Be Well, Be Safe.) We plan to reopen Memorial Day weekend. We are located in a rustic area of northwest Michigan between Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City, within 2 miles of the Tunnel of Trees, & conveniently located for nature preserves, state parks, & hiking trails. Our home is attached to the guest suite but guests access the apartment via a secured private entrance. Our equipped kitchen has a pantry, plus fresh farm eggs, butter, cream, ground coffee, and teas.
“If you’re looking for a perfect place to unplug and get off the grid, this is it! John and Mary’s “FROG” apartment is a cozy spot for all seasons. Quietly nestled 20-30 minutes away from Harbor and Nub’s, we had total privacy and zero interruptions from the outside world. We were welcomed by beautiful views of the surrounding woods and beach, and lots of local tips from John about what to do up north. He and Mary are excellent hosts and made us feel right at home. The apartment is well-insulated against the cold, and charmingly designed in a farmhouse/cabin style. Comfortable bed, plenty of space, well appointed cupboards and delicious freshwater right from the tap! Bring your books, puzzles, downloaded music, and preferably four-wheel drive, because this place is perfect for a low-tech getaway. No need for strong wifi/phone service/TV, when you have the great outdoors right outside your window. We would love the opportunity to come back again soon, and enjoyed every moment of our stay here. Thanks for everything!”
This charming log cabin is the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy the area's peaceful, wooded surroundings. For those looking to explore all that Northern Michigan's four seasons have to offer - you are within minutes of hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, biking, golfing, fishing and boating. End your day with a rejuvenating sauna, or telling stories by the cozy fire. A retreat to the Cub Cabin is the perfect way to recharge, reconnect, and get away from the "hustle and bustle".
“Adorable cabin off the beaten path. Tom and Diane are great host! They let you know they are there if you need anything! Sad we didn't get to sit out at the fire due to us exploring the area but they have really nice place set up to have a fire. We'll most definitely go back again!!”
