Lake house vacation rentals in Lake Toxaway

This was such a sweet stay and we wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful location - my husband enjoyed fly fishing during the day on the water and I was only 20 minutes from kayaking at the NOC. The house was very clean - tidy bathroom and kitchen with all your basics stocked to get you started. Hot tub was lovely and very clean! There is a steeper drop off next to the outside firepit so I would be mindful with little children. Easy check in and they were very flexible and responsive when we had some crazy weather pop up nearby. We will be back again and hopefully stay a little longer!

Once again, our family had a terrific stay on Lake Keowee in a beautiful spot! We always enjoy our time here and we so appreciate the lovely accommodations!

We had a great stay the the Azalea lake cottage. It has a huge covered front porch for sitting and reading, a wonderful updated kitchen and main bathroom. The fenced back yard was wonderful for our dog. The den was very comfortable with a great flat screen TV for watching a movie when we arrived home after a day visiting with family. Beds were very comfortable. The cottage was super clean everywhere, as well as the numerous huge windows. We also liked the back patio where the French doors opened out from the kitchen, with comfy outdoor seating there. Everything was easy to use, and there were clear written instructions when needed. We really loved it and plan to book in the future when visiting family!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay here. The house was perfect, the views spectacular, the boat dock and beach area offered easy entry into the warm water, and the sunsets were picture perfect. If I had questions (which I did) they were quick to help me out. Their team was accommodating and responsive. My guest enjoyed the full extent of the amenities offered. Everyone raved about the place and no one wanted to leave. We liked the place so much, we booked a return visit next year. Thank you Chris, Darieann, and Dave for the wonderful hospitality! We were treated like royalty.

Great stay! House was beautiful and clean and everything you could need in the boat house! The only issue was the boat rental. Motor died and the replacement wasn’t near the equivalent of the original rental. Still worked out

The host did a ton of up front work answering a lot of questions you may have. The place was well stocked. Beautiful location on the water. No cell service right near the place but instructions on how to navigate that are provided and easily followed. Rainy weekend in the sticks so it's expected, power went out but host reached out to me with updates which I appreciated very much. I would recommend this cabin!

This place is heaven on earth. So idyllic, quiet, lots of hiking. The house itself is cozy and well stocked. Kevin and Linda are wonderful hosts.

Little gem. Only weakness was the TV is a bit older and the internet bandwidth isn’t consistent. Cell service is weak up there too, so be aware of that. But if you want to truly unplug and enjoy nature, especially during the warmer months, this place is a treat. The owners have put a lot of intentionality into the place and accommodating the stay of their guests. Overall, wonderful.

This makes our second time staying at Amanda’s place. It has been such an ideal spot for my family while visiting our kids at WCU. I truly can’t say enough. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful neighborhood look no further! We love it!

Our family felt right at home at Michael's A-frame. My husband commented that it felt as though we had stayed there before, and it really had. It has every amenity and creature comfort you could want or need, including a nicely stocked spice cabinet, plenty of linens, board games and puzzles, and a place to do laundry. Michael was friendly and helpful. Our family had an awesome time, and we hope to be back to enjoy the property in the summer months!

We went to Lake Lure to get away and relax for the weekend. We knew that Lake Lure wasn’t 100% back and we were okay with that as that meant it would be less busy and more relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and the Cardinal Cabin was as described. The host was very helpful and had great communication despite being on vacation in a foreign country. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was perfect for us and our dogs—one of our favorite trips for sure. It had everything we needed in a clean and comfortable package. Basic, convenient, cozy, comfortable, and the best location for us. We want to cancel all of our other trips this year and just come back to Black Mountain and stay at Sean’s. While we have very well behaved dogs and have never had any issues with them staying anywhere, we always get a little nervous that they might mess something up, but Sean’s place is absolutely dog proof and we felt right at home. Our dogs loved it too. Don’t hesitate to book, but also we hope it’s available next time we come to Black Mountain. 😀

My family (2 adults & 2 children) took out a few days in Tryon for Spring break (March 2025). Firstly, the location and home were exactly as shown online. The location is extremely private and there was no wear and tear which made all of us feel like we were home from home. The bedrooms (3 in total) were large and spacious, the kitchen well stocked with basic sundries which allowed us to cook every night. Spending time together with breathtaking views was icing on the cake. The winner was the games room in the basement which we spent numerous hours at - pool table, giant Jenga, card game etc. Off the games room was a lovely hot tub which overlooked the mountains which was thoroughly used by all of us. Peter was extremely responsive to questions and super helpful which made us feel extremely looked after. I would highly recommend this location and I am sure we will be back again!

The home was very comfortable and convenient to the areas I was visiting. I was very pleased with the home and with Linda's communications and help.

The house was perfect for us. We were very comfortable there. We loved the fireplace and had a fire most nights. The enclosed porch was nice for our small dog that loved sitting out there looking for squirrels!

We had a great stay at Jeffery's cabin. It had everything we needed and was in a private and peaceful setting that was close to so many great hiking trails. I would recommend his cabin to anyone looking for a quiet getaway!

We spent Thanksgiving week at Evergreen with our family of 4. The surrounding land is stunning - naturally beauty that is worth the stay alone! The cabin feels like going to a great camp in the mountains...the rooms are large - every room is spacious and comfortable. It is an older property with a sense of history - feels like a family home. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of linens for the beds - and extra quilts. The property is rural but not a far drive to Tuxedo or Hendersonville for groceries. We also went apple picking at a near by orchard! It is probably equally beautiful in the spring when the trees and bushes are in bloom.

The place is exactly as described. Very close to WCU and worked out great during move in day. Relaxing place to stay.

I am happy to leave an "A+/5-star" rating...this, from a former professor who knows all about grade inflation. From start to finish, the hosts were welcoming. The accommodation is exactly as described and lovely. What did NOT receive a 5-star rating was the fact that I got caught in the horrific hurricane that blasted through the area. That said, the house was secure with nary a leak and safely above any low-lying area. Even with no electricity or phone for 3 days (luckily the water stayed on and my hosts had left a supply of filtered water), the ability to sit on the front porch, read from various books, and even work a jigsaw puzzle by daylight meant the days went by rather uneventfully. In fact, it was not until I was able to evacuate that I learned of how destructive this storm has been. Thanks to Anna and her sisters for reaching out when they could, and bringing extra water just in case. I hope to return in better times and would be happy to stay here again.

Amazing, very spacious house with lots of extra amenities, such as appliances like coffeemaker, air fryer, etc., plenty of board games, books, extra mirrors and cotton swabs/balls in the bathrooms. Nice detailed touches like helpful labels everywhere. Beautifully decorated. Great view of the water from the living room/master bedroom. Great little quiet and peaceful neighborhood, you can walk around the small lake and see the ducks. Perfect location, just minutes away from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood, it made exploring the area very easy. One of the best places we’ve stayed at! My kids didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!

Wonderful trip in an incredible location! The house was so welcoming and situated on the most peaceful lake. We hope to be back soon! Highly recommend - and was especially accommodating traveling with three young children.

Beautiful spotless new home in a beautiful neighborhood with every amenity! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Added bonus was seeing a group of deer several times. John and Lissa were very attentive and quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend this home! Would give more than 5 stars if possible!
