A sand floor, surrounded by a cacti garden...including the incredible cardon cactus, which are giant beauties that can live to be 300 years old. Within these thatched walls, with a cool surfy vibe, you will find some delicious drinks and TACOS! I love the flor de mexico, which involves mezcal and hibiscus...my favorite combo! The fresh quac and salsas come in Mexican pottery, and everything is just so beautiful, highlighting the local flavors and colors. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos, made in a food truck right there, and served up with a smile. But, I am partial to the fried shrimp or fish, served Baja style. Salud!!

On the outskirts of Todos Santos you will find a heavenly beach front restaurant called The Green Room. You will hear angels singing when you see it for the first time, because it is truly paraiso! It is worth the trek to get there, down a bumpy and dusty Baja Beach road. You pull into The Santa Cruz Villas property, a romantic oceanfront hotel that looks like something out of an ancient Mexican dream. You head up a path lined with swirling sea trees, to the restaurant and bar that is perched on a pale sandy beach overlooking the mighty Pacific. There are rustic-chic, wooden furnishings and the tables are all right in the sand, near the waves. You will see why it's called The Green Room, when the sun hits the top of the surf and it lights up a gorgeous lime green color. Definitely order a green drink as well...as everything is so fresh and will have you feeling the chill Baja vibes. The food is delicious with fish caught that day, piled high on homemade tostadas, or lovingly made into sashimi. The dishes and linens made locally are a nice touch, and the friendly and fun service completes the perfect experience. Go there for a sublime sunset and yumminess that will have you shouting Gracias to Los Cielos above!

In the middle of town, I also really love Caffe Todos Santos. It has two entrances, one on a cobblestone side street under a bright pink bougainvillea arch. It has an old world Mexican feel, with a romantic setting in an old house. The dining room has brick walls, colorful local design elements, and is draped by vines and blooming flowers. The food is yummy and the service is attentive. Definitely order the creme brulee...it comes in a boat! Maravillosa!!!

La Playa Restaurant is a great beach front dining experience, and is consistently great food. They have amazing Mezcalitas (Ginger Mezcalita is our favourite), and a 'meal' sized Bloody Mary with all of the toppings. Don't be afraid to try the salads here, or if you feel like a burger they are a good 'go to'. There's always lots of action buzzing around this locally owned restaurant, with live music, kiteboard launch and landing zone (ExotiKite is stationed here), horses, and the beach highway. We have often seen Manta Rays jumping here in June (mating season), and dolphins pods playfully swimming by. This is a great sunset spot to dine with your feet in the sand.

Sorstis is one of the nicest restaurants in town. Fun fact: I've used to be a dj there! It has a big patio and also indoor tables, all of them nicely located. Their menu is more on the expensive side of things but totally worthy. They offer a big selection of dishes like prime meat cuts, pizzas, salads, etc. They host a delicious brunch-like buffete on Sundays. Great option if you're looking for a place to celebrate a special date with a nice dinner.

There are several awesome beaches in the Cerritos/Pesky area that are worth spending the day at. Playa Los Cerritos is the most popular beach in the area, and is the best known for surfers and those wanting surf lessons. It’s also the only swimmable beach in the area, making Cerritos the ultimate family-friendly destination. There are plenty of umbrellas along the beach available for rent, and occasionally vendors will come by with jewelry, blankets, ice cream or margaritas (score!). More recently, a new development added more restaurants along the beachfront, providing delicious options all day that you can enjoy on-site or take to go. Barracuda’s is a Cerritos classic, but our favorite spot is La Tuna. I recommend the tuna tostado appetizer and the taco turquesa is a must! Big Fun Beach Club is positioned right behind the volleyball courts, where you can pick up a game practically any time of the day with friends or about-to-be new friends alike.

Just 10 minutes from the Magical Town of Todos Santos in Baja California Sur, is one of the most attractive and preferred beaches for surfers. This is Playa Los Cerritos, considered one of the safest in the entire region. If you want to learn how to surf, this is a good place to do it. In the area you will find expert guides who will take you to live this experience on the waves. Surrounded by rocky mountains, the temperature of the water is cold and the best time to surf is from April to November. Also, here you can also see whales from December to April.

Take a day trip to Isla Espiritu Santo, the virgin paradise in South Baja About the island Espiritu Santo (Spanish for ‘Holy Spirit’) is in the state of Baja California Sur, only 22 miles off the coast from state capital La Paz, from where you can get by boat in 45 minutes. It is both a Natural Protected Area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due do its extraordinary biodiversity. It has a land area of 31.183 square miles, which makes it the 12th largest island in Mexico. Only a narrow canal separates it from Isla Partida, which is just as beautiful –you can explore both in the same expedition. How to get to Isla Espiritu Santo, there’s only one way, and that’s by boat. From the condo if you rented a car (As I recommend you from the first message) drive towards La Paz, look for Balandra beach (must visit) and later for Tecolote Beach search it in google maps or try this link: https://goo.gl/maps/SMiKUPDci1szoRxz5 It takes 3 hrs to get there, leave veeery early arrive there at 8 am over there are boats for the day trip, they include lunch and everything, spend in the full experience... Or Go on a tour with an authorized operator, who will take you from La Paz to the island and back. You can go to La Paz, drive there from Los Cabos via the number 1 federal highway or catch a bus from either Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. What to do in Isla Espiritu Santo The surrounding reefs are home to numerous fish species such as parrotfish, angelfish, trumpetfish or rainbow wrasse, and also sharks, dolphins, turtles, rays and even whales, during some seasons. This is why snorkeling and scuba diving are very popular activities here, and you can hire a tour that is specifically oriented to them. Also, watch out for the wild sea lions that roam around –but don’t get too close if you don’t wish to scare them away. The archipelago these islands are a part of is also home to a lot of bird species, which you can easily spot during the trip.

Playa Balandra (often just called Balandra) is widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico—and even the world. Here are the main reasons why it’s such a special place to visit: 🌊 1. Shallow Waters: The bay's shallow waters make it perfect for swimming, wading, and snorkeling, with the depth remaining relatively low even when walking far out. Aditional rules & procedures: no camping, no climbing on the iconic "hongo" rock. Leave no trace: carry out all trash, use biodegradable items, no smoking, pets only on leash, use eco-toilets. Playa Punta Lobos is the closest beach to Todos Santos. Located just 1.2 miles south of the center off of highway 19, the beach offers a sea lion colony, swimming when good conditions/fishermen are out, and a historic lighthouse. The beach is also where local fisherman launch their pangas and return with fresh fish around 3 pm. Often, the fishermen will sell directly there. The San Cristobal is also located here.

Punta Lobos is the local fisherman's beach. If you go at sunrise you can see the fisherman launch from the beach out into the large Pacific waves, and mid-afternoon you can purchase fresh fish right from the fisherman as they return from sea. For those interested in adventure, you can sometimes arrange for a fishing trip for the following day (note it is not for the faint of heart!). There is also a hike that takes off from Punta Lobos beach and climbs up to a beautiful view point. For those looking to extend the trip, you can hike down the other side to the old Port. Punta Lobos is between town and Cerritos - to get there, take the road to Hotel San Cristobal.

One of the best beaches in the area for swimming and body surfing, Las Palmas is located just south of town at Km. 57. The beach offers groves of palm trees, a lagoon and rock formations on both sides. It is a privately owned beach, however the owner permits visitors and opens the gates from 6 am. to 6 pm. No campfires or camping. *The parking is fairly secluded. While Todos Santos is generally very safe, take all belongings outside of the car.

There are so many bars in La Paz for the night life lover that I couldn't choose just one. I highly recommend taking a walk down the Malecon at the "Golden Hour" (sunset) and exploring for yourself. Extremely safe and plenty of entertainment for your night owl needs. Your AirBnB is just a short walk away in case you indulge a little too much! There are also small shops along the street for artisanal souvenirs and gifts.

Todos Santos has been selected as a “Pueblo Magico” by the Tourism Bureau of the Mexican government. These towns are chosen because of their historic background, charming features, and picturesque buildings. The iconic Hotel California is at the heart of our town. Guided walking tours are available, or you can mosey through the generally quiet town on your own. You’ll also find a range of boutiques and handicraft shops to explore. Depending on the time of year, there are many public events to attend, including an international movie festival, several music festivals, art festivals, a mango festival, Mexican music and dance concerts, a food and wine festival and more! For active travelers, Todos Santos is the base for a number of eco-tour operators, offering whale watching tours, bicycle tours, kayak rentals, diving tours, deep sea fishing, and surfing lessons. The history of Todos Santos dates back to 1723, when the Jesuits came to establish a regional outpost (visita) Mission. They discovered Pericu, Cochime, and Guaycuara Indians living in the mountain areas surrounding what is now Todos Santos. Some of the rancherias as we know today, such as Guayabitas, were once Indian settlements. One of the purposes of the establishment of the mission here was to convert the natives to the Catholic lifestyle. The Indians were entranced by the Holy Saints days, along with the special adornments they were given to wear, but they rebelled at many changes, including monogamy. They also did not like to wear clothes to church. Soon rebellion and epidemics destroyed the inter-cultural relationships and the Jesuit effort at conversion failed, though the pueblo continued to prosper. A major reason for this prosperity was the abundant water and fertile soil that the newcomers found in this special oasis. Sugar cane, corn and various other vegetables supported daily life. Although the original missionaries were chased from the area, others stayed and continued to develop the various forms of agriculture. By the late 1800's this was a major sugar cane producing area, reportedly exporting tons of sugar cane candies to the mainland. There were five "molinos" or sugar cane processing plants in the area, as evidenced by the still standing large brick chimneys dotting the local landscape. The war of 1847 briefly interrupted the tranquility of life in Todos Santos. More devastating was the 1910 Mexican Revolution, in which Todos Santos and Pescadero became major battlegrounds. Illustrious figures came into historical focus during this period, including General Dominguez Cota, whose hacienda home still stands in San Ignacio, General Antonio Meliton Albanez Dominguez and General. Augustine Olochea Aviles who later served two terms as governor of the territory. One of the most famous, Dionisia Villarino "La Coronela" was an exemplary woman of valor as she organized a strong women's auxiliary group which played a major role in espionage. After the war, life returned to normal, and Todos Santos boomed. Many of the homes in the historic district were built or remodeled during the period. The sugar cane industry flourished until a great drought befell the area in the early 1950's. The underground water table dried up; in 1974 there was only one molino left in operation, which is now the site of the El Molino Trailer Park. The pueblo was re-discovered in 1984 when the road from Todos Santos to Cabo San Lucas was paved. (Earlier tourists headed for Cabo took the route along the East Cape). This discovery was by artists and other creative people who savored the tranquil lifestyle of this authentic Mexican village. This time, however, instead of trying to convert the natives to the imported lifestyle, the foreigners worked hard to blend with their adopted culture.

Magical Town located on a plateau on the slopes of the Sierra de la Laguna, a paradise that overlooks the Pacific Ocean between an oasis of fields, palm groves and the reedbeds of Valle del Pilar. The fertility of its land and the abundance of water from the springs of the Sierra de la Laguna, led to Todos Santos booming in agriculture at the end of the last century, especially in the cultivation of sugarcane. In 1850 it had 8 mills. This period of bonanza lasted approximately one hundred years. Then beautiful colonial-style buildings were built that housed public offices, hotels and theaters. Todos Santos joined the Pueblos Mágicos program in 2006. It is a town where the meeting of cultures is something daily and the visitor is captivated by the intense artistic life that takes place in its galleries and festivals, by the subtle charm of its streets and the enveloping sway of its beaches that look towards the Pacific.​ Todos Santos was founded in 1733 with the establishment of the Mission Santa Rosa de Todos Santos. One of the most widespread legends of Todos Santos is that of the Hotel California, which was supposedly the inspiration for the group "Eagles" to compose the world-famous song that bears its name. Mi gusto Agricole Cooperativa, a really pretty, family-owned market with organic produce, fresh baked bread and gourmet goods. Buy some supplies to take home to stock your fridge. I recommend the handmade burritos,fresh guac, salsa and chips to have on hand for snacks. They also have fresh juices, and good coffee beans they will grind for you. There is also a lovely little wine section...I recommend any wines from Valle de Guadalupe...the Napa of Mexico! There are also some decently priced artisan tequilas and mezcals. Also on site, is a sweet outdoor restaurant, set in their garden with blooming flowers and herbs. I haven't eaten there, but I've heard it's amazing!
