The space
The Ocean Pearl was fully renovated in 2022 and has been carefully restored to offer modern amenities with homage to its vintage roots. Reclaimed lumber pieces and exposed original walls are some of the features that add to its character. This contemporary home was tastefully decorated with a nouveau-Newfoundland style highlighting one of a kind pieces from some of the top local artists.
The open concept main level features a welcoming eat in kitchen overlooking the large private back yard. It is fully stocked with all the amenities required to cook your fresh seafood from the local fish market, perhaps even your own fresh catch of the day. A large table with seating for 6 provides your friends and families an intimate space to enjoy your meal and discuss your plans for the day.
As you leave the kitchen, you’ll find yourself in the spacious living room with comfortable seating for 6. High speed internet and a big screen smart tv provides access to your favourite streaming services. The living room is stocked with puzzles, arts & crafts, boardgames, cards, a bluetooth speaker and an acoustic guitar. Plenty to do for friends and families alike. The living room also has a walkout to the front deck.
Off the living room, you'll find an office nook with a desk if you really need to check your emails and get some work done. Although, we really hope you'll never need to use this space.
The main level also features a large powder room (also known as a half bathroom).
Guests will also have access to the laundry room/mudroom off the kitchen with a washer & dryer and a walkout to the private backyard deck.
The second level contains all 3 bedrooms and the main full bathroom.
Bedroom 1 ( The Green Room) is bright and spacious. Furnished with tasteful decor including the exposed original wood walls, reclaimed lumber headboard, a double bed with a new, super comfortable Endy mattress. The space is completed with another big screen TV.
Bedroom 2 ( Sunshine Yellow) is also bright and spacious. Furnished with tasteful decor including the exposed original wood walls, reclaimed lumber headboard, a queen sized bed with an oversized premium pillow top mattress.
Bedroom 3 ( The Pearl Suite) This airy and cozy bedroom contains a queen size bed, with a new, super comfortable Endy mattress, reclaimed lumber headboard, vintage decor and offers a private retreat situated at the back of the house. The bedroom has a unique view overlooking Durrell Hill Museum and offers a great vantage point to view the sunrise over Twillingate.
The main full bathroom completes the second level and has a shower/tub combo.
One the the exceptional highlights of The Ocean Pearl is the yard. The private backyard offers plenty of space to play and enjoy the outdoors. It's perfect for families with younger children and larger adult groups alike. A large private deck with plenty of seating gives a great vantage point to enjoy the festivities of family and friends partaking in fun and games in the back yard.
The house sits a short walk (4 mins) to the Auk Island Winery and Jenkins cove beach (10 mins) allowing guests to leave the car on the private driveway and take in sights from the area.
