The neighbouring ridgeline of the Koonyum Range is home to several waterfalls and incredible bushwalking & mountain biking trails.
Up the road further into the hinterland, known as Wilson Creek, is the location Lilium Cafe.
A hidden gem nestled amongst the forest offering delicious drinks and food. It also has a small selection of alcohol for purchase.
Just down the road, but really just across the creek, is The Crystal Castle. A popular attraction enjoyed by many locals and tourists alike. Here you can stand in between two of the largest crystal amethyst in the world, take a walk around a labyrinth, and enjoy a meal at their cafe surrounded by blissful nature.
If you are looking for a day of pampering and would like to go to a spa, Mullumbimby has two fantastic day spas on offer. The original - Kiva Spa, and the newly opened - The Bathhouse. Both are incredible and worth experiencing.
We are very fortunate to live in an area that has several organic farmer markets each week and all within close proximity. The Mullumbimby Farmers Market is held on a Friday morning and is a favourite event amongst the community, featuring the best local products as well entertainment from local musicians. It’s also a great place to grab some breakfast and a coffee.

The Farm at Byron Bay is located only a few minutes away from Byron Bay, just off the Highway. This is worth adventuring out for. Here you can experience a guided farm tour, shop at the nursery, enjoy a delicious meal from the Three Blue Ducks Restaurant, or grab a snack from the very popular in-house bakery.
A 15-minute drive East to the coast is Brunswick Heads. This town has a quality mix of cafes & restaurants, clothes shops, a health food store, petrol station, fantastic picture house, incredible river swimming spots, playgrounds for the kids, a delicious deli and much much more.
A further 5-minute drive over the bridge from Brunswick Heads is Ocean Shores. Here you will find a shopping centre, consisting of a Coles supermarket, a pharmacy, discount shop, sushi train, organic and bulk foods shop, newsagency, Kmart, tavern and bottle mart, medical centre, laundromat and a selection of cafes. The Ocean Shores Country Club has a great pool as well as a beautiful golf course, located within 3 minutes from the shopping centre.
Further North is South Golden Beach which has a great cafe - Miss birdies. Here you can grab a coffee, breakfast, or lunch. They even make delicious pizza for dinner. There is a skatepark and a great playground a short distance from the cafe, which is right next to the entrance to the beautiful South Golden Beach.
A 5-minute drive South of South Golden Beach sits New Brighton. Here there is a well-stocked general store, which is also a post office and bottle shop. Next to the general store is Yumyum tree cafe. This cafe is hugely popular with locals and visitors alike, who usually come for coffee and a swim in the river across the road. About 100 meters up the road from Yumyum Cafe is ‘Casins Lane’, where the river runs alongside the road. This area is great for swimming if you want to escape the waves or if the beaches are too windy.
