Inside the hut you’ll find a calm, welcoming space with everything you need for a comfortable stay:

With no streetlights or light pollution, nights here are ideal for stargazing and unwinding in complete peace.
Life on the farm
Caban Fron is set in a peaceful field beside our family home, an old Welsh farm dating back to the 1500s. The shepherd’s hut and its outdoor space are entirely private and designed to feel secluded and undisturbed throughout your stay.
You may occasionally see some of our animals in nearby fields, including sheep, pigs, goats, dogs and cats. Interaction is entirely optional and only by arrangement — if you’d like to meet Idris the Dartmoor, our Valais Blacknose sheep, or our two miniature pygmy goats, just let us know. Many guests enjoy this as a gentle addition to their stay, while others prefer complete privacy, which is always respected.
Location
Caban Fron sits directly on the Leete Path, a beautiful riverside walk connecting nearby villages such as Loggerheads, Cilcain, Pantymwyn and Rhydymwyn.

Guests have exclusive access to their own private area throughout their stay.
You’ll find dedicated parking just for you. A small gate then leads to Caban Fron and your fully enclosed outdoor space, including the hot tub, fire pit and seating area — all completely private.

If you let us know your estimated arrival time, we’ll do our best to have the wood-fired hot tub warm and ready for you.
We’re also happy to arrange a visit to meet some of the animals if you’d like — just ask.
Guest access

After entering through your own farm gate, you’ll find dedicated parking just for you. A small gate then leads to Caban Fron and its enclosed outdoor area, designed to feel secluded and undisturbed.
This private space includes the KolKol wood-fired hot tub, a fire pit and a seating area — ideal for slow mornings, quiet evenings, stargazing, or simply taking in the surrounding views in complete privacy.
Other things to note
Wood is provided throughout your stay for both the indoor wood burner and the hot tub, so you can enjoy a cosy and relaxing experience. Please note that there is an additional charge of £25 for wood used on your check-out day. If you need any assistance getting the fire started indoors or heating up the hot tub, we’re always happy to help whenever we’re around—just let us know!
If you’re able to share an estimated arrival time, we’ll do our best to have the wood-fired hot tub gently warming for you, so you can settle in and relax from the moment you arrive.
Animal interaction is entirely optional. If you’d like to meet some of our sheep during your stay, we’re happy to arrange this by request. Many guests enjoy meeting Idris the Dartmoor and our Valais Blacknose sheep as a quiet, memorable part of their time at Caban Fron, while others prefer complete privacy — both are equally welcome.
