We truly enjoyed our stay. Our daughter had a lovely time and got to pick vegetables at Yasuyo’s garden. Then we got to cook and eat them afterwards. The highlight of the stay was, playing basketball with Yasuyo’s nephews and niece. Very spacious house, although it’s cold in winter but Yasuyo and her family warmed our hearts. The family was extremely friendly and welcoming, definitely would love to revisit. Highly recommend it 🥰

I enjoyed my peaceful stay!

We spent 2 wonderful days up in the mountains, walking in the nature, listening to the birds and resting. Meeting with other guests was a lot of fun but it was Jiro and Chai who brought life to this special place. If you love being far from the city to experience Japanese rural life with kind hosts, you’ve come to the right place.

The room or bathroom was clean and the interior was cute I liked it during my stay.

I had a good rest in a really, really cozy accommodation!! The host was really kind, so I enjoyed Yanagawa to my heart's content.🫶😆

It was a really quiet place, and it was a short time with Chai And Jiro to have breakfast with Chai And Jiro when I turned on the fireplace in the Kotatsu room and had an unbelievable conversation, but it was a nice memory.Thank you very much. I will come again.

This stay was the first part of my trip to Japan. The journey to come from Cyprus was one of the most difficult experiences traveling, it was truly tough and lengthy. I arrived at the house very tired. But I could not imagine a better welcome than this place. The hosts welcomed me with so much love and care. Everything about this house is awesome, from the aesthetic, the location, even the toilet! I am in awe of their kindness and very grateful for such a beautiful start of my trip!

If you’re reading this review, wondering if you should come out here — please do. I had a great time staying here, and felt incredibly welcomed. A real throwback to the old days of Airbnb where your hosts make you feel like part of the family (thank you for having me at your family event). The surroundings are beautiful, and they set me up with an e-bike so I could explore the countryside. I definitely want to go back.

Yuko is an amazing host! Her cooking is delicious, and she took great care of our kids, even taking them to see the horses. The accommodation was very comfortable, with a lovely countryside atmosphere. Communication was not a problem at all—we used a translation app to chat, even about cooking ingredients when my wife had questions. We requested a dinner service since we have young children, and the portion size and taste were well worth the price. However, be well-prepared for the cold weather in February—it can be quite chilly!

Had a wonderful stay.A farm that Sadachika raised over the hand salt, a treehouse and swing handmade for my grandchildren, a beautiful view of Beppu Bay, and a starry sky like a planetarium.It was a paradise place for my two little ones, and I couldn't get into the house and play outside forever.I think it's the best environment for families with children. It was a weekend, so the kiwi hunting and camping guests were always coming and running it alone, so I seemed to be very busy, but they took care of the details. The homemade honey was also very delicious. We'd love to visit again when it gets warm again.Thanks again!

It’s a very cosy beautiful home and it’s surrounding. Totally feel relax and breathing in the freshest air. Despite the chilling cold night, me and my wife are overwhelmed by the our host, to show us the moon using his modified telescope. What an experience for us, it’s totally pleasant bonus I would say. That made our night there so memorable. Thanks for the lovely breakfast too and the coffee.

The house was beautiful and spacious, just as described in the pictures. The outdoor onsen was amazing, especially on a cold night—it was truly a highlight of our stay. We were four adults visiting, and there was plenty of space for everyone. In the morning, the view was nice, and the surroundings were quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!

My hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend booking the meals for an extra fee. They are delicious, home made and with a variety of local dishes. I enjoyed the discussions with my hosts. The house is at a convenient location to visit Miyazaki, Aoshima and further south.

Staying at Aki and Kana's place has been such an amazing experience! They have the most loving family and made me feel right at home. The room is beautiful, and the Wi-Fi is super fast. So, this is the perfect option for digital nomads like me who want to stay here for long periods of time while working from home. The location is also stunning. You can reach the sea in five minutes, and there is a gorgeous bamboo forest within walking distance. The town is peaceful and ideal if you want to witness the most authentic Japanese culture. There is also a bus station close to the house, so you can reach Fukuoka and other nearby locations without problems. If you're planning to go to Japan, this is the place to book!

Such a friendly and homely stay. Hitomi was incredibly helpful and recommended a visit to a local pottery (with the longest climbing kiln) where you can do a pottery experience course with a great English speaking teacher. the breakfast are delicious and healthy and the guest house is like a home from home. I highly recommend. If you arrive by train and take a taxi, I advise writing down the address in japanese as the taxi driver may not use Googlemaps or speak English. Hitomi was really helpful in sorting out the confusion I had with my taxi driver!

Megumi is definitely a super host 😊 She was incredibly kind & generous, provided a lovely healthy breakfast each day & gave us lots of help regarding transport, giving us lifts to places too. She was very friendly & great to chat to. We learnt so much about her local area whilst we stayed for a few days. Very relaxing stay, we would highly recommend!
