“Wonderful, wonderful suite. The bed was so comfortable. The decor was light, refreshing and so relaxing.; lots of spacel ensuite bathroom was A++; and lots of outdoor space as well. Location was great - right next to the lagoon and a short walk to the sea. Very safe and quiet. “As a family with two small children (5 and 2 years old) we had four nice days in the cozy apartment of Anita and Hein. The two are extremely hospitable and take care of the well-being of their guests, so we got good tips for trips to the surrounding area on a rainy day. The location of the apartment is absolutely ideal for child-friendly excursions on the Garden Route. We particularly liked Birds of Eden, the Jukani Wildlife Center, the beach walk to Arch Rock and the breathtaking hike in the Robberg Nature Reserve. Everything can be achieved in a maximum of twenty to thirty minutes. The restaurants and farm stalls for all meals in the area are great and Anita and Hein give you very good tips, especially which places the children will like. The apartment is equipped with everything you need (oven, hob, microwave, fridge, grill) and basic things like salt, pepper, shower gel, etc. are provided. The two bedrooms are next to each other, so that one bedroom is a through room. It's great for families. Not so great for couples traveling together on a multi-day stay. The children had a lot of fun with the beach toys and other toys in the apartment. They found the “banana bird”, which visited us regularly to eat small pieces of banana, particularly funny.”
This vintage forest cabin is perched above our pristine mountain stream, set amidst a highly diverse indigenous botanical forest wetland. The cabin is entirely private with a large deck and extensive views of both mountain peaks. Hand built by owner over a period of two years, with hardwood floors throughout, hand waxed with beeswaxpolish from our own hives. Guests enjoy their own private access along their secluded forest path. A vintage Nestor Martin canon style wood stove will restore you.
“Last week we stayed in their eco-friendly cabin for 3 nights with our 4 year daughter and our son of 11 months. We were stunned by the craftsmanship by Roberts hand and felt the warmth of theirs hospitality. George, Carmen, their animals were a joy to us and our children. Due the light rainy days we didn’t make use of the veranda that often but the inside was just spacious enough for 4 of us with some creative adjustments. Do try the outside shower and pick fruit in their garden. Everything together it was a great experience to enjoy such a place in the nature in a most naturel way. Tip: order the marinated meat for the braai. It was super delicious.”
