Ain House Cottage Sleeps 4 Pets welcome

PaulRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We loved this place! Its peaceful with good local walks, a pub just down the road. Tea and coffee and a loaf of bread were provided which was very welome. We'd brought our 2 dogs along, and Soraya had thoughfully left some dog treats out too. Just outside there was a hot tub, which was a real bonus, and a great way to relax after a day out walking.

Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Luxury cottage - river views, balcony and hot tub

EllieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We really enjoyed our stay at this airbnb. The surroundings and building itself are beautiful. We fell in love with the very friendly cat who visited us many times. The balcony and garden are gorgeous and we got incredibly lucky with the weather. It maybe wasn’t as private as the listing suggests but it wasn’t much of an issue for us. The hosts were incredibly helpful to bring us plenty of bottled water while the water mains in the area were having some problems. We had a fantastic stay here.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place and friendlier helpful host. Kathryn was attentive and was very responsive, always friendly and helpful. This cottage is very spacious, modern and clean. Contemporary yet cosy cottage for 2

AutumnRating, 5 starstoday
Had a lovely weekend in The Lakes. The accommodation was fantastic and had everything we needed for our stay. It was a very quiet location surrounded by lovely scenery. We tended to drive up towards Coniston most days to go for our walks but this was an easy drive and we would also venture into Ulverston to get food in the evening. Fab location if looking for a peaceful rural stay.

Sea Glass Cottage - Beachfront cottage

SueRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We absolutely loved our Christmas at Seaglass Cottage. The hosts were great, answered any questions, gave us detailed instructions for check-in and even put up a Christmas tree and decorations for us. We were very lucky with the weather, enjoying walks along the beach right outside, we even found some seaglass (we felt like children!). The property was very clean, the bedding smelled so fresh, the kitchen had everything you might need, very clean bathroom and handy downstairs loo. Every evening we would sit in the cosy conservatory enjoying a glass of wine, watching the sun go down, people walking along the beachpath with their dogs and then into the lounge for a real log fire. It was perfect and we can't wait to return!

Ford Cottage, Rutter Falls

NeilRating, 5 stars3 months ago
A wonderful cottage in a fabulous location. Fizz, fresh bread and homemade jam to greet us. Lovely warm and surprisingly large cottage with a gorgeous view of the ford. Great walks straight from the door with wildlife aplenty (sadly no red squirrels but our host did point us to a hotel where we managed to see them). All in all, a cracking place to stay.

2-bed cottage, walking distance to village & water

ClaireRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lovely accommodation. Perfect base to explore the area. Close to the lake and Coniston which is walkable from the property so you can easily get to the lovely pubs, shops and cafes. Ruskin Museum is worth a visit to see Bluebird and the Bluebird cafe is a must. We kayaked the whole lake on the Saturday (covered about 12.5 miles) Parking and put in point right next to the lake, which is close to the property. We travelled to Wast Water on the Sunday to kayak. This was about an hours drive from Coniston and well worth the visit. All in all a fabulous weekend and the weather was warm and sunny. Thank you Emma for letting us stay. Claire and Rich 😊

Quaint Cottage in the heart of a village

CherylRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We had a wonderful three-night stay at Joanne and Brian’s cottage in Scotby. The home is beautifully furnished, incredibly clean, and finished to a high standard. We especially appreciated the story of Madge and Flo—the old photographs and renovation history added so much character and charm. The location is quiet but conveniently close to Carlisle, making it a great base for exploring the area. Joanne and Brian were excellent hosts—very responsive and helpful. A small issue with the Hive was quickly resolved, and we appreciated their attentiveness. The welcome basket with wine, snacks, and quality mattresses were lovely touches that made our stay extra comfortable. We’d highly recommend this cottage to anyone and would definitely return!
