Everything was perfect and the host was super attentive. The apartment is right next to the central station and super well equipped.

Here's a list of things we loved about Yumiko's place: Just a few blocks away from the North Exit of Nishioji Station Very close to a bus stop There's a nearby drugstore and konbini Basic toiletries and essentials were available for us to use Each of us had our own body towels & face towels We were gifted with complimentary snacks, cup noodles, and water bottles Extra blankets were also available for us to use The whole space was very comfortable for three people with 4 large luggages and additional bags Our host and her husband greeted us as soon as we arrived and were very hospitable. We felt very comfortable with them and felt very welcomed. They showed us around the room, taught us how to use all the appliances We hope this home is still available when we comeback to Kyoto next time. 😊

Quite possibly the best Air BnB we’ve ever stayed at! Koji and Eri are fantastic hosts, who do everything they can to help with check in. And as for their house, wow! Exactly what we’d been looking for in Japan. Traditional style but still with plenty of space, well situated to explore, we had a great trip here. I think I’ll also now forever miss not being able to have a garden bath! If you’re looking to stay in Kyoto, then book this place!

The most perfect place to stay in Kyoto! Right around the corner from the subway, so it’s very easy to get around. Lots of delicious restaurants just nearby. The house is just absolutely stunning, and very well equipped for a holiday stay. Keep in mind the raised living space and stairs up to the bedroom for accessibility! Yoshiyuki is an amazing host; super responsive, helpful, and has the BEST recommendations for the area! Would highly recommend staying here! 😊

The house was very clean and well kept. Exactly as advertised, the host was friendly, accommodating, and responsive. The location is excellent to see the main tourist sites in Gion, very walkable. The street noise is somewhat loud. It does get quiet at night (although you can hear the cars going by), but between the construction across the street and the tourist foot traffic, you might find it difficult to relax here during the day.

Great little traditional home with all the amenities you could need. The home is fairly close to the main districts and the hosts were responsive.

Aika’s place was simply fabulous. Really great value for money. Location is great and well connected to transport. The place itself is very clean and cosy and has lots of nice touches. Highly recommend it.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ume’s home in Kyoto! Everything she had prepared for guests was very intentional, right down to the umbrellas under the stairs, which, thankfully, we only had to use once! The heated floors were delightful during our winter stay. The home felt traditional but with all the modern necessities, especially the lovely cedar bathtub in the bathroom. The neighborhood was quiet and the house was very comfortable for our group of four. We just adored being right on the Takase canal and so close to the Kamo River and train station, though we preferred to walk to and from Gion and Kawaramachi most nights. Don’t hesitate to book Ume’s home!

This is our second stay at Yoshimi's and we were very happy to be able to stay there again. Everything is perfect, very kind and helpful Yoshimi who speaks English, the place clean with a very comfortable bed, warm room, functional little kitchenette, peace and quiet around even though the place is very close to the main attractions. It's a very lovely area with numerous little eateries, good transport. If it is available - take it! And in spring, I believe, the street will turn into a garden as the trees that are lining it are the cherry trees. Thanks Yoshimi!!!

This place was wonderful, I loved the peace of Kyoto. The host was very clear with the location being 15-20 min away from the station but it was really easy to find and there are 4 stations at each corner. The streets are flat with not a lot of people so easy for the luggage. By the second day we remembered each path and didn’t use maps anymore. The house itself is just like the pictures, very cute and cozy! I feel like they need to advertise the warming table more as it was a blessing!!!! The bed was very comfortable and we found no issue with having the shower outside. We didn’t even find it to be outside it was only one step outside and you are back in. Plenty of space and it was nice to see the light from the bathroom window. The kitchen is fully equipped. My partner and I even made pizza from the supermarket as there. The cafe near by recommended by the host has delicious goods and also cats to see!!

A beautiful home with lots of space for families with children. Close to Aeon Mall and Kyoto station. Host was very responsive and made our stay memorable.

We are a family of 7. We spent 3 nights at Yamano's. Location was great. Few mins walk from Hankyu Line Arashiyama station. (There are 3 lines / stations that serves Arashiyama, this is the furthest from the bamboo groove.) There is an Onsen that is few mins walk away, which I went twice on our 3 nights stay. It is also about 10 mins walk to the entrance of the snow monkey park. Advantage of staying away from Kyoto city is that you get to be the 1st few to visit the sights in the area before the troops of tourist arrive. If you need to get to JR station with luggage, just walk out to the main road to flag a cab. There are plenty and cost ¥1000. The down side about staying in that area is the limited option for b'fast and dinner. Most restaurants open at 11 and closed by 6. The host, Yamano was hospitable and responsive to our messages. He was very helpful to assist us to arrange our luggage transfer via Yamato to Tokyo. He even tracked and updated on the status.

Uzu is a very nice and friendly lady, welcomed us to a wonderful stay. The house was clean and comfortable, providing us with a cozy haven to immerse ourselves in Japanese culture. We had an amazing time these few days.

We have had a great time staying in Kyoto in Akio-san’s house. The house is very clean, intimate, beautiful and extremely functional. We loved the little Japanese garden and the big green bath tub where we spent our evenings soaking in the hot water in late November. We would love to stay again! Akio-san proactively gave us instructions about everything. Perfect vacation week! Thank you!

Our stay in Kyoto was that much more special because of this house. It’s a great stay for those who want the experience of a traditional Japanese house. The garden is beautiful and everything was well maintained. The heated floors were awesome! Communication was very quick and efficient and they even came to show us around the house so we knew where everything was. I truly enjoyed staying here and hope to be back next time around! For those looking for multiple restrooms and bathrooms, this is the place for you. We had a group of 8 and we were all very comfortable. Arigatougozaimashita!

Yasuhiko's home was amazing! So close to Gion, restaurants, temples & so much more. This home was easy to find and a pleasure to come back to at the end of a long day in Kyoto. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved this place so much! Taka is so very sweet and helpful and explained everything. The house is great. Very spacious bedrooms, many windows for fresh air from nearby hillside park, well stocked kitchen. Very close to Silver pavilion ( wayyyy better than gold pavilion). Easy bus access. Many restaurants near by, college vibe from university. 15 minute stroll from philosophers path. And he has bikes!! Go to this place. Stop looking elsewhere. And say hi to Taka.

the house is very well located. I enjoyed walking along the stream in front of the house in the morning and evening.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay for our 4 nights in Kyoto. The Japanese decor was an amazing introduction to Japanese culture. Close to attractions, public transport, restaurants and convenience stores. Would highly recommend staying in this beautiful home. Terry was so helpful and went above and beyond to welcome us! She drove us with our luggage from the metro station when we arrived and left too! She was insightful and provided nearby supermarket and restaurant rec! We enjoyed the stay as it was quiet and traditional home! The bath was so soothing in the evenings! Well worth the stay if you’re looking for a quieter location from the main touristy areas of Kyoto.
