If you wish to have a real lighthouse experience, this is the place to go to. Overlooking St Ann’s bay, just steps from a partly rough beach and offering the quietness and relaxation one is hoping for Rosella and John are perfect hosts who really excell in offering their guests all what one can hope for and more…. At the same time, whilst living just a stone throw away, they are giving you the total privacy you can enjoy both in the lighthouse and on the terrace overlooking the bay. We LOVED to stay here and can warmly recommend it.

We enjoyed our visit in Big Bras D'Or. With your own transport you easily get to many attractions in Cape Breton like the Miners museum in Glace Bay, Alexander Graham Bell museum in Baddeck, the Cabot Trail, and Celtic Colours Festival events. The accomodations were excellent and the hosts very friendly

Beautiful…. The house was great. We had a fire every night (Niki stocked with very dry wood, truly appreciated). Kitchen had everything needed for cooking (which we did each night and morning). Bed was really comfortable and bathroom was nice and clean. All of that was great, but outside was even better. The views of the coast and landscape were amazing. We caught perfect sunsets and one night had an unbelievable view of the stars and the Milky Way…. Very private and a perfect relaxing getaway. We could not have been happier with our stay.

We stayed a couple nights mid November, the place is very private and quiet. You can hear the waves of the ocean. Unfortunately it was very rainy and foggy while we were there. The drive was difficult up to the park to and the fog made sightseeing difficult. We spent the days relaxing inside :)

We spent two nights in late October and could imagine how great it would be in the summer. It’s right by the water and is fairly private as we couldn’t see any neighbours. The road is hard packed with speed bumps and seems to be well maintained. The cottage has a screened in porch, deck and a heat pump. It would be great for stargazing as there are no bright lights nearby. It is a really lovely place to stay and is only about 9 kilometres from Baddeck. Joanne was a lovely host and greeted us upon arrival.

Loved everything about the cabin - may need an update for hot plate in kitchen but barbecue worked great. Attention to every detail including farmers matches, little flash lights, & rechargeable night light. We had 2 fabulous campfires, did stargazing & even had a full moon. We also enjoyed several Celtic Colours Festival events!

Ruth’s place is amazing. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and many thoughtful touches throughout the place. Would definitely come back :)

This house is the absolute perfect place to get away from the stress of the world and relax a bit... The views are incredible, the beds are extremely comfortable, and nights are so dark and quiet. It was really nice to be able to walk to the beach and feel like you could be on a short adventure without needing to get in the car. The house is equipped with everything you might need and the hosts were wonderful to communicate with. - There's also a game room that isn't in the pictures and was a really fun spot to stumble upon :)
