You can optionally paddle to the store with the kayak or row in the rubber boat. The area is known for having a bustling boating life in the summer. Hytten ligger ca 100 m over havet, med turmuligheter direkte til Bø-heia like ved, samt spektakulære turmuligheter en kort biltur unna. Bygden Leirvik har et lite tettsted, ca 2,5 km fra hytten, med en matbutikk og hotell, samt et skipsverft nede ved fjorden.
