Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Hunterdon County

Cute place and very clean. Note that the cat requires some care (e.g., being let in and out, refilling the food bowl) which was concerning for us as the weather was very cold and we were away from the house for most of the day and did not want to leave her out in the cold for 12-14 hours at a time. She is very affectionate, tends to want to sleep in the bed, and may wake you up throughout the night. There are lots of scented things around the house (plug-in air fresheners, aromatic pillow sprays, essential oils, etc.) which can be problematic for those of us with sensitivities to artificial fragrances. The house is not well set up for early morning coffee drinkers. There is a deli near by but the coffee is not very good and the market across the street does not open until 8am. We ended up getting our own coffee pot.

We had a great stay. The farm was so beautiful and our pups really enjoyed the fenced in yard. Very relaxing and private. Highly recommend! We enjoyed meeting the caretaker that lives on the property.

It was such a beautiful home in a perfect location. The place is stunning and the photos do not do it justice. We loved how we could walk to all the restaurants/bars in Lambertville and New Hope. We really enjoyed coming back to the house, listening to music and playing shuffleboard. Looking forward to returning!

This was my second time staying at the Canoer's Cottage and I loved it even more this time! It is truly the ideal spot for a quiet get-away, in beautiful surroundings, with the Delaware River on one side and a lush meadow and woods with trails on the other. The cottage is one of several on the property but feels very private, thanks to the layout and fencing in the backyard area (which is equipped with a cute table and chairs, great for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine). The cottage was spotless and very comfortable, with a super mattress on the bed, a spacious living room and fully-provisioned kitchen, and lots of natural light. It would be perfect for a solo traveler, a couple, or small family. Christine was a warm, friendly, and respectful host. I will definitely be back!

We had a great time at this cozy cottage to celebrate our anniversary. Check in instructions were clear, property was easy to find, and an overall great stay. Jan has two off leash dogs who will come and greet you. This is a known feature as it’s mentioned in the listing and check in instructions, so we knew to expect some greetings! The dogs were friendly, and the border collie was a was a little jumpy and did get some mud on our clothing. However, somewhat to be expected staying on a beautiful farm! I also wished there was a curtain or blinds on the downstairs windows, just felt somewhat exposed at times however did not taint our experience at all. The cottage was clean, with many features and amenities to make you feel right at home. We had the ability to check out some animals on the farm and it was a lovely experience. Overall I would recommend!!

It was delightful staying at Melba's place, the river view is excellent and the studio is just beautifully decorated and super cozy, both the bedroom and the studio area. The bed and bed clothes were comfortable and my partner and I slept pretty well. It may be a bit hard for folks to get up early not but there is a stepstool that folks can use. We also liked having the electric stove, we can go on and on about how great our experience was, Melba was excellent too in communicating. A+.

Andrea's cottage was the highlight of our weekend getaway. It was beautiful, cozy, and well-curated. The wood burning fireplace was perfect for a relaxing evening at home, and the property was in a great location - close to downtown but also quiet and private. Andrea was a very inviting host. She gave great recommendations for places to check out downtown, and had the kitchen stocked with the assortment of tea/coffee/snacks. We highly recommend!

Jennifer’s home had everything we could have asked for and more. It was clean, cozy and well equipped with anything we would need. The beds were extremely comfortable and the location was perfect - a quick walk to all the cafes and shops plus a beautiful porch to sit out in the sun. Jennifer was super nice and easy to communicate with. We can’t wait to come back!

A new favorite! The cottage is so charming & cozy. It was the perfect getaway. The location is peaceful and beautiful and not too far from the cute towns and restaurants that are in the area. Definitely looking forward to staying here again.
