Kazuki’s place is truly a gem. He & Deborah were so communicative, providing transport and recommendations for the area. The room is cozy and funky, and the area is so endearing. Mountains, lake, onsen, great food. Perfect way to escape the city - could have stayed much longer.

We had the best stay at Shayne’s place. It is in such a great location. A short and beautiful walk around 10 minutes and you’re in town. Shayne was an awesome host, super helpful with recommendations and transportation around town. A really welcoming place, with a communal feel making it easy to make friends. Would definitely stay here again!

HOUSEHOLD is an absolute pearl! We spent two nights in the former Obi factory, discovering first the little details of the place, and later the closer surroundings of Himi town. The room we have stayed in was on the top floor and was wonderful—overlooking the misty Toyama Bay, we fell asleep to the sound of the waves and woke up to the morning sun. The food and coffee we were served were just impeccable, the recommendations for lunch and dinner were sincere and outstanding. We were able to go fishing one afternoon together with the owner Natsumi-san and had an absolutely great time! There is a huge kitchen to use (f.ex. to grill your caught fish), but there are many other things to do (library) and events (café, cooking courses, …) to attend. The entire team of HOUSEHOLD is very competent, funny, and incredibly kind.

We had everything we needed in the room, and we used it as a family, including our children, but we were satisfied.

I was looking for a hotel in Sumoto, and I found a hotel island (Shikano-Kaze) on Air Bnb The hotel is well cleaned, has everything you need, and the staff and owner are very kind. I would definitely recommend this place to enjoy Sumoto It is a hotel suitable for both short-term stays and consecutive nights, making it easy to travel to various places. The sea is also close, which is great! The exact address seems to be Sumoto Honmachi 2-2-2. It was listed as 2-2-33 at the time of booking, so you can definitely visit!

Hosts made this whole experience amazing. They were so friendly and responsive and helped so much when we asked for a taxi, directions, rentals, and even calling places to make reservations! The hotel was cozy and clean with a great location to bike or walk around the lake. Even though we didn't see, you will have clear views of Mt. Fuji while staying if the clouds are clear.

Good, have a big bathtub but quite far away from konbini store its okay responsive customer service

Great stay, super comfy bed, quiet rooms, and clean common areas.

Great location, very peaceful. Having the bikes on property was a game changer, no need to take public transport. Front desk staff is there to assist with your first load of laundry and with any dishes if you bring food back. The hot tub/onsen room is great to return to after a long day of travel. Amazing views of Mt. Fuji from your room.

Kelly’s place came with many amenities and was within walling distance of the subway station and many other sights. I would definitely comeback again.

We had a great stay here. It was wonderful being in this quieter location and being able to get away from some of the Mt Fuji tourist crowds. The views were outstanding and staying here meant we were able to enjoy it with fewer people. The host was very friendly and helpful. We were traveling with family and so it was good to have two rooms in the same place. The private bookings for the bathhouse were also great for the family.

We loved the location, the hot private bath, and the in-room and lounge amenities. Our host, Wade, made us feel right at home.

Very friendly host who drive us from Shirahama sta to the accommodation. It’s a house on the hill with beautiful views. We can see the most famous beach of Shirahama from our room and from the rooftop. The location is also nice. 15 min walk to senjojiki 千畳敷 , and then 10 min to sandanbeki .

A very warm and welcoming guesthouse. The kind hosts met me at the station and gave me many great local tips. The house is cozy, the room was spacious and comfortable. I felt at home and would love to visit again. Thank you!

This place was 5/5. From price to hosts to location, couldn’t ask for more. And the fact that the host came to pick me up from the station and drop me to airport out of goodwill made the trip so simple. At one point, I injured my leg. When he found out, he bought me leg tape. But the most magical thing was the handdrawn map of Shirahama which is my favorite souvenir from Japan! Will be back during surfing season for sure.

Hotel Linas was just perfect for us! Located very close to the famous market & easy walking distance to the geisha district too. I was a bit worried about the shared bathroom scenario but everything was so modern & clean it really was not an issue! The shared lounge & kitchen area are perfect too.

Four of us stayed in a room expecting it to be small but the room is really spacious and clean. We enjoyed the bathroom being separated from the bedroom keeping the bedroom dry. The balcony allowed us to dry some laundry as well. Bed was squeaky so we didn’t use the bed frames and slept really well. Enzo was responsive as well and location was accessible to many stations with a 10min walk
