Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hawaii

Sandra's home was very nice and has a beautiful backyard. We rented the downstairs portion (with the private pool). We really appreciated the extra amenities provided (beach chairs, body boards, wagon, cooler). We used all of these items when we went to the beach. The yar d, fruit trees, and view are immaculate. We were able to pick fresh fruit each morning (star fruit, guava, oranges). This is definitely an experience that you can not replicate at any hotel, our family really enjoyed this. Thank you Sandra for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We loved our stay at LeeAnne and Evan’s! The home and grounds are beautiful and comfortable. We had our little one with us and greatly appreciated having a high chair, pack n play, toys and books available to us. It truly felt like home away from home. LeeAnne made herself available if we needed anything. We had the pleasure of meeting both hosts in passing during our stay and they were so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend and definitely our first choice if/when we make it back to the big island!

Debis place is beutiful! a nice view of the ocean. The pool up front is amazing in the nice warm afternoons. The house is very well stocked with essentials and utensils. Was an amazing place to stay!

Great place. About a 15-20 minute walk to a couple beaches. You are in a neighborhood so it feels safe to walk around/not many cars. 5-7 minute drive to nearest grocery store and a few restaurants. Very close to Hanalei town - about 30 min to Haena State Park. You definitely need a car while sight seeing around Kauai. The home is large (big enough for 9-10 people) and the kitchen/living area is great for family mornings and evenings. You can see the mountains and waterfalls on a clear day. The lanai on the first and second floor are great in the mornings. All the rooms are spacious and very clean. 3 of the rooms are on the bottom floor (including the 4th room/bunk bed that is in common area). The only room on the first floor is the master. Only issue was that the fridge ice maker did not work and had a little difficulty contacting the 24/7 property manager. Brad was a great communicator and really helps you know the lay of the land. Would definitely stay again.

Shana’s place was perfect for our girls trip. The two bedrooms on the second floor were spotless and clean. It also had an upstairs living area and day bed. Very relaxing to take a nap during the day. The downstairs bedroom had an en suite bathroom and was wonderful for my mom. Kitchen was stocked with cooking necessities. The place is great value and location in Princeville, very quiet as well. Highly recommend this property for your vacation needs in Kauai. I left some items but the host mailed it back to me in a timely manner, really appreciate that.

Had a dream vacation at Mary’s beautiful home in Captain Hook! We loved hearing the ocean and the birds. The place was clean, and well kept. We enjoyed the pool and big living space. There were lots of beach toys/flippers/towels to borrow which was very handy. The geckos were very charming and kept the bugs away. The bay is a 5 minute walk where you can enjoy the sunshine by the ocean with a big green space. There is also fantastic snorkelling in that area as well. We will very much miss this place. MAHALO!!

It is worth renting from an owner that is available and responsive! Tiffany was very great to deal with and very helpful. The place is very clean and very close to downtown. There are bikes for rent across the street. The seaside pool is amazing and relaxing with the waves crashing into the rocks just feet away. Thank you for the last minute stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Their space was clean, easy to find, and comfortable. Joe and De were responsive to any correspondence. We appreciated their binder with all the info about the place, the surrounding areas, and places to eat. It was was really cool they had all the equipment for us to use. We would definitely look at staying here again if we ever make it back to Maui.

This is a beautiful house in a great location. Matt communicated with us right when we booked our stay about a year in advance, a week before we arrived with detailed instructions, the day of, and during our visit. We visited with our adult children, and the home was ideal. The bedrooms are large, and each has a bathroom. The living area was large enough for all of us to gather, but we also had plenty of privacy when we chose that. I cooked a number of meals, and the kitchen was stocked with what I needed. It was an ideal location for our vacation.

The best thing about this home is the amenities—I loved having a surplus of linens, condiments, spices, BBQ grill, beach toys. The bed is comfortable! The neighbors upstairs are very quiet, kind and friendly. The neighbors lateral to you are friendly but loud at night. We stayed for 6 nights and 2 of the nights (Sunday and Thursday) they sang karaoke (like another reviewer mentioned) until 11 pm and open their windows so it’s quite audible if you are trying to sleep in the bedroom. The sound isn’t loud if you’re in the living room. For the price, this unit is still a good deal imo.

Great location and fair price with parking option!

My family loved staying here. It really was perfect for us. The only things I didn’t like are beyond Luisa’s control. I didn’t like that it was on the 3rd floor and I didn’t like that it wasn’t on the beach! Ha! Otherwise it was a very clean and beautiful little apartment!

Love Sugar Beach and the condo is a bonus with it’s great view. It’s well-equipped with all the necessary incidentals, making our stay comfortable and convenient. Highly recommend! Thank you Mary Anne and Ames!

We really enjoyed our time! The townhome was clean, quiet and private all the amenities were in working order. Amazing pool! Nice grills in the courtyard and a beautiful easy to walk to beach. Would stay again 10 out of 10, I can highly recommend a stay here.

Great location and free parking.

Diane’s House is a hidden gem.the view is spectacular. the Location is perfect. close to many snorkeling points like two step. Captain cook memorial. lots of coffee farms around. there is no AC. but the perfect elevation makes temperature just right. Cool Breeze comes from the Ocean. what an amazing experience.

I can’t say enough good things. We stay in a lot of air bnb”s and appreciate a good thoughtful space and responsive hosts. The location was walking distance to beaches, close to restaurants and shopping. I could run along the ocean in the am. Water excursions are close by too as is the luau. Our 2 bedroom was perfect for my daughters and I. We had privacy yet a shared space to cook and eat together Hosts have everything to make your stay special, snorkel gear, beach stuff, cooler and ice boogie boards even swim shoes if u need. Kitchen was perfect with everything we needed to cook all our meals. Hosts were kind enough to let us wash laundry and let us stay a little extra on our last day so we could shower/change after snorkeling . Rooms were open to ocean breezes/waves or ac did a great job. Wi-fi was good as were tv’s (though we only used once! So much to do!) We so appreciated this place and it really made our stay perfect! I would highly recommend

Very cool place with amazing views. We were here for New Year's Eve and could see an array of fireworks for hours. Huge outdoor deck with bbq and tables and chairs. Other reviews said it was tough to find; it can be, but the check in communication included photos and more details that made it a breeze.

We loved staying at this magical treehouse. Falling asleep to the sound of birds, wildlife, and occasional rain at night was so peaceful. We slept so well! It was incredible to be immersed in nature but to also have great WiFi, very hot water, and a washing machine. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathrooms and the beautiful woodwork in the house. Beds were super comfortable and the hammock was awesome. Joe is an excellent host. We hope to be back!

Della and Max were very friendly and nice. They were very helpful with checking-in our room when we had trouble. They both shared a bucket full of fresh off-the-tree macadamia nuts which were delicious! Max shared some local suggestions with us as well. It is a quite place and isn't too far outside of Kona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful place to stay. As a family of 6, there was plenty of space for everyone. Stocked kitchen and laundry was a plus. Super close to Volcano NP. Just the gate lock gave us issues trying to shut it-a little sticky.

This place sits isolated at the end of a rural area far from the city life in a tropical forest, it’s really cool with tree frogs and birds to sleep the nights away, perfect for those who want to get away from city life, highly recommended, and loved to return if I can!

We really enjoyed our stay here at the plantation it was so peaceful. Such a great place to stay at. Would love to come back in the future. Thank you sue for everything!
