Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hartington

Jennie was a great host, there was a small issue with a smoke alarm when we arrived but it was fixed in 15 minutes! House was very nice and wet loved the hot tub.

We had a great stay, a group of friends and a dog. We used it as a base for some nice walks around the Peak District, like Mam Tor. The hob tub was a welcome treat. I can’t think of anything that the host hadn’t already thought of. The under floor heating felt very luxurious. The kitchen was well equipped. I wish we would have brought ground coffee to use the machine. I wish we could have stayed for more than one night! We didn’t really have to message the host for much but when we did he was very prompt in his reply. All in all it was a great place to stay and felt good value for money. Would definitely return!

Everything about this place was perfect. Beautiful location & beautiful accomodation. Greeted on check in by Caroline, very friendly and helpful, showed us around the accomodation and were everything was. The Lodge was spotlessly clean, well equipped and everything so well thought out. The beds were exceptionally comfy also. Location very lovely and peaceful. Gorgeous welcome pack on arrival which was a lovely gesture. Thank you for a lovely stay.

10000% would recommend anyone to stay here. I booked this as a suprise for my partners 30th. And we were both blown away. Firstly surrounding areas are breathtaking. The check in process was super ease. And the yurt, oh my how do I even begin to explain how perfect this was. My partner was so so happy with this suprise. The hot tub was an amazing end to the trip Thank you so much to Amy we will definitely return again in the future

Superb place for a family get together. Large lounge with plenty of seating and spacious bedrooms meant everyone felt right at home. Views were stunning and so close to Carsington Water. We didn’t explore as much due to Storm Bert but felt cozy at home with the log burner! Pub within staggering distance. Excellent hosts who helped us out with snowy conditions. Definitely would highly recommend and will return !

We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family in the nearby town. Lovely cottage surrounded by farmland and nice to see the animals roaming free on the working farm. Cottage was great for 4 adults and 2 small infants. Only thing we would say is the bathroom only had a shower which made it tricky to give babies a bath but we found a way and couldn’t be helped as its just the layout! We made use of the hot tub on one of the nights which was a nice treat after a long journey! Close to some lovely pubs and Carsington Water where we stopped for a walk and coffee. Natalie was a great host and it was very easy to check in and she was responsive to any questions we had on the lead up to our stay! We were even left a lovely bottle of wine and treat basket to enjoy! We have already said we would love to stay again in the summer as it’s a perfect spot for us. Thanks again!

Great house in a lovely location. Ideal for a short break with the family.

A perfect mini break with the family, the house was the most well equipped house I have ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything. Hot tub was warm and ready for Our arrival. A fantastic hour feeding the animals with farmer Vic who was happy to chat with the kids and answer all their questions. The kids absolutely loved collecting eggs and the keep sake tote bag was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend to friends and would be keen to return in the spring to see the Farm come alive. The perfect house for a big family with lots of space available. Ample parking outside the house for our 3 large car. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A lovely warm, cosy flat, especially as there was snow outside ! It was clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen and decent sized bathroom. The flat was a perfect size for 2 people. We loved the fact that we could walk into Buxton easily, where there was a good selection of bars and restaurants. Plenty of walks in the surrounding area. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth also close by.

Fantastic find, a mile from Matlock but feels like you are deep into the countryside. So quiet and peaceful, the cottage was everything you could need, spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. Shower is a bit cramped if you are over 5ft 8ins though :-) Lovely enclosed garden ideal for the dogs and the views across the dale are stunning Would love to return one day, highly recommend a visit

Great location 10 minutes from the train station and 15 minutes into the town centre, comfortable living and sleeping rooms, highly recommended

We had an excellent stay at the Annex, there were plenty of home comforts for all the family including our baby and dog. The hosts were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Beautiful surrounding areas, suitable for a long dog walk. Would highly recommend The Annex to all.

We had a fantastic stay here. Andy was so helpful, and his communication, from booking right through to check out, was spot on. The property was exactly as described, and just what we needed for our stay. It was so well equipped and furnished, and was absolutely spotless. We were only here for 1 night, but would love to come back and stay again for longer. Thanks Andy!

What a great place! Perfect location, great size (the kitchen is actually bigger than it looks on the photos!) Well equipped kitchen with great home made flapjacks on arrival. Fiona was great with recommendations for where to eat (amazing pies at The Star Inn!) and responded very quickly to any queries I had. Would definitely stay again.

We are a group of friends who meet up somewhere for a long weekend catch-up as we all live so far apart. 3 pairs of mums and daughters, and the rest made up of ladies ranging from 45 to 65! The Angel was perfect for us. really practical communal spaces and spacious twin/ family rooms. Well equipped and such a quirky building. Modern appliances in the Kitchen. Lived the pantry. plenty of room at the table. Good WIFI and great tv facilities. Fabulous time was had by all.

Really lovely place to stay quiet with amazing views! Not far from Ashbourne town centre where you can get all your essentials we really enjoyed using the swimming pool as well that was a bonus for us!

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Perfectly located for our family trip to walk up Kinder Scout. The cottage was clean, warm and comfortable. Our host provided us with local recommendations, delicious biscuits and local coffee. The pool was wonderful, our boys couldn't get enough of it! Highly recommended!

What a wonderful stay at Manor Farm. The house was beautiful, well maintained, extremely spacious and very comfortable. The surrounding countryside was stunning, with great food being served in nearby pubs and plenty of places to visit. Great space for youngsters too, with the wildlife - baby rabbits, sheep and birds and of course the swimming pool and games room, all of which they loved. Thanks to the hosts for their welcome and hospitable atmosphere.

Great value for money. Can't stress enough how friendly and reliable the staff were. We had a lovely week stay, the house was clean, the beds were comfy and the scenery was perfect. We were informed of the booking system for the swimming pool and games room, so you could have the room to yourself which was great. The pool was clean, the games room was kept tidy and the house surroundings were really lovely to walk around. You can tell the grounds were well maintained and kept in good shape as the workers never stopped, but were always so friendly. This property is perfect for bike riders, walkers and pub crawlers. You couldn't get bored.
