My friends and I had a great weekend here! The home is very clean, inviting, and has a beautiful view. Hosts were very responsive and always stayed in touch with us while we were there.

What a beautiful place! Very peaceful and private. We were here during a snowstorm, which made it even more cozy. Loved making use of the fireplace and hot tub. Alison was very helpful and proactive when it came to making sure we felt safe considering the snow and cold. It was perfect for a winter retreat, but I'd also love to come back someday during the warmer months to make use of the deck and bbq pit.

Fantastic and responsive hosts! The cabin is gorgeous and the surroundings simply incredible! Only wished we could stay longer. Definitely returning.

One of our favorite places that we have visited! We spent Christmas Day at Shane’s place with our two pups and had a wonderful time. Cabin was well equipped with everything you might need in the kitchen, extra towels, board games, coffee etc Shane was a wonderful host and very responsive before and during the stay. The hot tub on the porch was a high light as was the fire pit we used one evening. Indoors it was small but cozy. No cell service but strong WiFi The place has a fully fenced yard which our two dogs enjoyed. Our two dogs are escape artists but at Shane’s place we could relax on the porch with a cup of tea and a book, while our pups were roaming the forest around us

Our stay was amazing - peaceful, relaxing but also the right amenities when we wanted extra things to do - we loved the hot tub, the board games that were provided, the propane grill and we made use of the fire pit more than a few times. The enclosed deck and the fenced off area behind the hot tub area was super convenient for our two dogs - we all had a great time. The cabin had everything and there was a lot of attention to detail. My girlfriend loves to cook and immediately noticed the hexclad cookwear and the finer knives. 10/10 stay! we will be back!

John and Jade were outstanding hosts and always so quick to respond. There was a winter storm warning during our stay, and they even checked in on us to make sure we stayed safe in the weather! The place was very nice and cozy - perfect for a peaceful cabin weekend to make you feel right at home and the views were beautiful.

Our stay at the River Roost was fantastic! The listing and photos were accurate, and check-in/out was seamless thanks to clear communication from the hosts. The plethora of board games (stored in the ottoman) were a nice bonus. Their guidebook was a great resource for exploring the area and discovering new food spots. The hosts have clearly put a lot of care into creating a welcoming, well-rounded experience. There’s truly something for everyone at this cabin, and we can’t wait to return in the spring or fall!

Sabita went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and was extremely responsive to any issues that arose. She was extremely kind and accommodating and I have no doubt that if I had needed anything she would have been quick to make it happen. The house is adorable and attention to detail impeccable. The friends themed playroom is a great touch and we had everything we needed. We will be back!

Stayed here for a couple of days around the New Year. It was super cozy and we had the best time. I would recommend bringing some of your own pots, pans, and knives if you're planning on doing a lot of cooking, which we did and so we were very happy! They left the perfect amount of wood for a fire for one night, so as they mention in their description if you'd like to do more than that you should probably bring another bundle yourself.

Perfect quiet getaway for our family with small children and dog. Lots of open space to explore. Loved using the hot tub on our chilly evenings

Julia’s cabin was the perfect getaway with the family. The cabin had all the amenities needed for our stay plus some thoughtful extras. We took advantage of fishing on the reservoir down the road and hiking Tuscarora Trail. The outdoor areas of the home make the cabin even bigger while being surrounded by a beautiful wooded area.

This was one of the most thoughtfully designed AirBnbs I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. We especially enjoyed the guitar and record player, incredibly stocked kitchen, and wood for the fireplace. Great place for a weekend getaway from DC, I'd highly recommend :)

Cozy, peaceful, and pristine small cabin close to the river, C&O Canal, Paw Paw Tunnel, and other local attractions and state parks. Highly recommend for a fun, relaxing family weekend away! We were particularly impressed with the local recommendations and really comfortable beds! A must-stay for anyone in the area!

It's a million dollar view in a very affordable rental. Cozy and cute, the place is good for groups. The kitchen is clean and convenient. It has a few pots and pans, but you might want to bring some supplies if you plan to cook a complex meal. In all, we had a great time, and the sunrises and sunsets BLEW OUR MINDS!

My family and I recently stayed at Margaret's cabin in West Virginia, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The setting in the woods provided the perfect opportunity for a peaceful, spiritual retreat. The cabin was cozy and well-maintained, offering all the comforts of home while still feeling immersed in nature. Margaret was a wonderful host, making sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. If you're looking for a place to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, this cabin is the perfect choice!

Our stay at this secluded cabin was exceptional. The property was thoroughly equipped with everything we needed, and the remote location provided perfect stargazing opportunities. One minor issue: there was some initial confusion between the Airbnb check-in instructions and the house manual (the house manual is correct). However, Tony had advised us to follow the manual beforehand. Overall, this well-stocked, peaceful retreat exceeded our expectations.

I think it can be hard to find a great spot for a winter vacation. This was an incredibly cozy stay for a weekend of rest and rejuvenation. I love — love — that covered patio. It was a dream to curl up with cocoa & a book in that space while looking out at the river. The space is about a half hour drive from hiking, but it’s perfect for a restful vacation. I especially loved that you could clearly see the stars from the patio at night & there were no fireworks for New Year’s Eve in the area, which my nervous puppy was so grateful for. Would love to go back!

Had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Great location right beside the river, cozy inside with nice screened porch and firepit outside. A short drive to Wardensville for services. Recommended!

We had a wonderful time at the place and privacy to ourselves - exactly we needed during our evacuation from the aftermath of hurricane Helene. The house is specious and has a lot of beautiful natural lights. We also enjoy the recommendation places, kayaking in the river, and hiking at Paw Paw tunnel.
