Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.

Mountain and valley views

Guests say the views are lovely.
This spacious two-story villa, adjacent to The Castle on Champagne Ridge, is the ideal retreat for a couple or a solo traveler.

Relish breathtaking 180° views of the Rift Valley and Ngong Hills while barbecuing or savoring a delicious breakfast on the private balcony. Play table tennis, darts or simply savor the warmth from the fireplace in the undercover outdoor patio. Only 1 hour from Karen.

The space
The Tower is perfect for a couple or solo traveler who enjoys stunning views, plenty of space and nature. Go hiking straight from the property, jog around our very safe community or simply take in the rays and relax with a good book.

Enjoy sweeping views of the Rift Valley and Ngong Hills while BBQing steaks or enjoying an alfresco breakfast on the private balcony.

The ground floor boasts a large ensuite bedroom with a queen bed and views of the Ngong Hills.

The expansive private undercover patio has outdoor furniture and a fireplace as well as table tennis, dart board and an oversize Jenga.

The bedroom is very spacious with a queen bed and stylish ensuite bathroom with instant hot water. There is a bookcase with novels and magazines as well as lovely views of the Ngong Hills.

The upstairs offers a large living area complete with a kitchen, dining area, comfortable sofa and balcony. Enjoy 180° views into the Rift Valley and the Ngong Hills while playing board games or cards.

The kitchen boasts a 4 gas burner cooker with an oven, fridge, pots, pans, crockery, glasses, utensils and cutlery.

The entire villa is run with solar power and instant gas hot water.

We supply 1 large basket of firewood per 2 night stay, additional firewood can be purchased for 500kes per basket.

Off-grid means we are totally self-sufficient with 24-hour solar power, gas cooking (gas cooktop and BBQ grill on the patio), gas hot water and rainwater harvesting systems.

We collect rainwater, purify it, and store it in concealed water tanks, making it safe to drink directly from the tap.

The Tower is ideal for couples or solo travelers. It is not appropriate for children or infants. As I live on the same property you know there is 24/7 support and security, making it ideal and safe for solos and in particular females.

Meals can be delivered from a restaurant down the road (menu is in the cottage) for those not wanting to self cater.

We can supply contact details for a chef and masseuse for an extra special experience.

Our closest shops are in Kiserian town 18kms away, so please bring your food, drinks and condiments. There are phone numbers in the Tower for bodas based in Kiserian who can shop and deliver.

While we don't have Wifi you will enjoy excellent phone and internet reception with Safaricom (4G) and Airtel (3G/4G).

The Tower is surrounded by thousands of acres of bush in the heart of Masai land. You may see cows, goats and sheep as well as zebra, eland and dik diks and maybe smaller, maybe not so welcome critters. All wildlife is integral to maintaining a healthy environment. If this is not for you, a city-based getaway may be your thing.

Guest access
Guests staying at The Tower have access to 10 acres of natural African bush in addition to thousands of unfenced acres to explore. Feel free to bring your bikes or hiking boots and enjoy.

Our area is in the heart of Masai Land meaning it is incredibly safe to bike and hike and explore!

During the rainy season (April/May and Nov) you may need a 4x4. We get significantly less rain than Nairobi so most days the last 12kms from Kona Baridi on the murrum road is bumpy but fine for all cars, occasionally it does rain making the road a little slippery in parts.

Other things to note
For those without their own transport can Uber/Bolt or ask us for contacts for reliable taxis based in Nairobi who know our place.

Neighborhood highlights

Situated in the middle of Masai Land, Champagne Ridge is 1 hour from Nairobi. The area is classic Africa with Acacia trees, zebra, eland, antelope, gazelles and the occasional ostrich roam freely throughout the area.

The Tower on Champagne Ridge is immediately adjacent to The Castle and is not far from Kiserian, Ngong, Ongata Rongai or Karen in distance but feels like an entirely different World.

Away from the hustle and bustle of city life we enjoy a chilled relaxed rural lifestyle.

Originally from Adelaide, Australia I have lived on the African continent since 2003 working in tourism as well as running our community solar power project. The Castle on Champagne Ridge is our refuge, a place to relax and recharge the batteries. Tim, my husband, is the brains behind the design of our cottages (Nest, Dhow, Cave, Tower and Castle). A solar power guru and my own personal Mr Fix It! Everyone is welcome regardless of religion, culture, sexual orientation or nationality
