Surfside Chalet is light, modern and beach-themed. Many guests comment that it's a real 'home from home' with everything needed. It was my first home so I’ve designed everything to be ‘space saving’. I loved living here and really enjoy welcoming guests to stay and enjoy the beautiful local area too. It is perfectly located to walk into Mumbles or around the cliff path to Langland Bay. Plus you’re only a short car journey away from the scenic areas of natural beauty that Gower has to offer.

The space
The chalet has an open plan living area incorporating a kitchen, lounge and dining area. There is a separate bathroom and bedroom. To the front is a large raised decked area with surrounding balustrade with gate and there is private off-road parking for one vehicle in the driveway alongside the property. There are three decked steps leading up to the front entrance, from which point everything is on one level. We have Sky Fibre Broadband and the Wi-Fi signal is excellent in all areas. The chalet sleeps up to 4 people via the double bed in the bedroom and the corner sofabed in the lounge, which converts to a full-sized double bed.

Open Plan Living Area

Lounge:
Comfortable corner sofa (that converts to a double bed), wall-hung fire with pebbles, 32 inch HD Smart TV with integrated DVD player, coffee table, breakfast bar, 2 bar stools.

Dining area:
Laura Ashley wooden table with 4 chairs, 2 tall shelving units with beach-themed decoration, small shelving unit with books, board games, leaflets about the local area and Sky Wifi hub.

Kitchen:
(New for 2021) - Hotpoint white double oven with ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, glass chopping board, wine rack, shelf with pots/ pans/ utensils/ fire blanket, mini fire extinguisher, shelving unit with beach-themed items.
Top cupboards containing: cafetière, plates, bowls, side plates, cups, saucers, mugs, microwave food covers, glasses, egg cups, colander, cheese grater. Separate top cupboard containing iron.
Glass-fronted top cupboard with wine glasses, shot glasses and glass dessert dishes.
Drawer with cutlery (including children's) and utensils, drawer with chopping boards and spare utensils, foil and food bags, drawer with recycling bags.
Low cupboard with deckchairs, plastic pet feeding bowls.

Bedroom
Two fitted double wardrobes, hangers, a faux leather full-sized double bed with memory foam-topped mattress, dehumidifier, wall-hung electric heater. (One fitted wardrobe contains hair dryer, mattress cover/ duvet/ pillows for sofabed, additional toilet paper, electric heated clothes airer, oil-filled radiator, vacuum cleaner).
Cupboard containing ironing board, long-handled sweeping brush and pan, dry mop.

Bathroom
Electric shower over bath, glass shower screen with towel rail, basin with mirrored bathroom cabinet above, WC, electric wall heater, peg rack. Please note that the size of these properties does not allow a large water tank system so therefore there’ll be hot water for a shallow/medium depth bath although not a full bath.

Outside Space
Large newly built gated decked area to the front with blue wooden table (chairs kept in cupboard inside). 2 new recliners are kept inside for use on the decking.
Gravelled area to the back with raised flower beds, pots and lights, recycling bins, secured by tall fence and gate.

We have a high standard of cleanliness and in the interests of guests’ wellbeing, the property is strictly no smoking. We thank you in advance for respecting this.

We pride ourselves by ensuring the chalet is cleaned to a sparkling standard prior to guests checking in, and although we do not charge a cleaning fee so ask guests to do a basic clean prior to vacating, we work with a professional cleaning company who do a full changeover clean between all guests so you can be assured that you will arrive to a thoroughly hygienic property and be able to relax. We are fully committed to AirBnB’s cleaning protocol.

To the front of the property is a large decked area - great for relaxing. To the rear is a recently completed landscaped area with raised flower beds and fencing, decorated with solar lights and flowers in ceramic pots and our resident garden gnome!

We have Sky WiFi with an excellent signal so it’s a perfect base to stay and keep connected. The L-shaped living area with breakfast bar, corner sofabed and dining table also makes a perfect working area.

To keep guests cool and comfortable during the summer months, we have ceiling fans in both the main living area and the bedroom. In cooler times of the year, in addition to the main fireplace and heating, we supply additional heaters to ensure your stay is warm and cosy. There is also an electric clothes airer and a dehumidifier for guests to use if they wish to.

We love making updates to the property and in 2023 refurbished the entire decking to the front of the property. We have also made several recent additional upgrades including new double-glazed windows with frosted-glass panelled door to the front, new double electric oven with ceramic hob, new bathroom heater, extractor fan and a new fence built at the back. We have 2 new windows being fitted next week and are very excited to welcome guests to Mumbles to enjoy a great holiday in 2026!

Guest access
The chalet has a shared driveway with the adjacent chalet - there is plenty of space for 2 vehicles one behind the other (1 per chalet). Our neighbours rarely occupy their chalet so you may find you have the driveway to yourselves.

Other things to note
Unlike many other chalets, the electric is included in the price of your stay so you don't have additional charges for using a meter. (Subject to no over usage of course!) We also don’t have any additional charges for pets - they deserve a holiday too! Sky fibre WiFi is available at no extra cost and we have also recently updated our prices to accommodate no additional charges for cleaning. All we ask is that guests leave the property clean, organised and tidy, as found on arrival, with evidence of pets (e.g. animal hair) removed. There is a vacuum cleaner and cleaning products at the property for guests’ convenience. Pillows and duvets are provided, plus mattress/ pillow covers (the main bed will be made up for your arrival), and a bath and hand towel per person at no extra charge. You are also welcome to bring your own if you prefer - just let us know.

The location of the property is on a quiet road of chalets situated in Limeslade, located a 3 minute walk from the coast and the bustling village of Mumbles is 5 minutes via car or a 25 minute walk.

There is a lovely cafe a few minutes away on foot called Fortes - perfect for an ice cream or coffee by the sea! And this is where the coastal path begins to Rotherslade and Langland Bay - a 30 minute walk on a recently refurbished completely flat path with beautiful coastline views.
