Beach and garden views

Soak up the views during your stay.
Shells Cottage is a premium front row holiday home (shack) and one of the few front houses in Moore River available for rent. With neighbours only on one side and the adjoining nature reserve, it boasts magnificent, unobstructed views out across the foreshore, mouth of the Moore River Estuary and the Indian Ocean beyond. If a relaxing beach retreat is calling, Shells Cottage will deliver.

The space
Shells Cottage is a quintessential, relaxed Moore River beach house that can accommodate more guests than most of the smaller beach shacks in Moore River, none the less it's still a beach shack built in the 50's and not a luxury property. Our special cottage is a place where you can take off your shoes and enjoy a slower pace of life. We absolutely love it and we hope you'll feel at home as well.

Accommodating large family gatherings or intimate groups, your vacation will sure to be one to remember.

Sheets and towels are an extra charge of $30 per bed. Unfortunately we don’t have a linen service up at Guilderton and this is what our cleaner charges to wash all the sheets and towels. We give our guests the option to bring their own sheets or pay extra as it would increase the cleaning fee an extra $240 dollars.

Our house has five bedrooms, with four queen sized beds and two bunkbeds.

The top floor has two bedrooms that consist of a queen sized bed and the adjoining bunk room (the two rooms are separated by a glass door and privacy curtain). You do have to walk through one room (with the queen bed) to get to the bunk room. The bunk room has two bunkbeds. The lounge room is also on the top floor and at the end of the hallway is a full bathroom.

Down two steps to the middle floor is the third bedroom with a queen bed and the eat-in kitchen.

The bottom floor consists of two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bathroom with laundry.

The staircase, banister and decks are all open. Children under six should be watched at all times and not allowed to navigate the stairs without adult supervision.

We have Wifi.

The fully equipped eat-in kitchen boasts a large family table to gather around, large retractable doors opening onto an expansive deck to enjoy the views of the Indian Ocean and Moore River. The kitchen is equipped with, a cooktop, oven, two refrigerators, microwave, four slot toaster, a pod coffee maker with foamer (some pods may be there, but we suggest you bring the flavour you prefer as we can't guarantee there being a supply), salt, pepper, oil and sugar. Some paper towels but we suggest bringing more for your stay.

The lounge room also boasts magnificent views and has a separate deck to enjoy a lazy afternoon on.

The beautiful old Tuart trees in the back yard, provide ample shade for a relaxing breakfast, lunch, evening BBQ and a gathering place to share your adventures at the end of the day. It's a peaceful setting for children to play, explore and a great place to just grab a good book, blanket and enjoy the variety of birds that call the Tuart trees home. If you're really quiet, you may be lucky enough to see the beautiful owls that live in the nature reserve adjoining our property.

If you'd like to play a game of footy, cricket or croquet our property sits next to an open green space suitable for a variety of activities. There is also a park a short distance from Shells Cottage, with bathrooms and a play area for children.

The Guilderton Country Club serves dinner, has a full bar with pool tables, darts, lawn bowls, golf, tennis, putt-putt and a playground.

Guest access
During your stay at Shells Cottage, you have the entire house to yourselves, including front and backyard. There is an undercroft that will be locked and guests will not be able to access.

Other things to note
Our house comes fully furnished and equipped for a relaxing holiday. We do include dish soap, hand soap and rubbish bags.

You will need to provide:
-Bed linen (can be provided at an extra charge, free to guests staying more than eight days.)
-Bath towels (can be provided at an extra charge, free to guests staying more than eight days.)
-Beach towels
-Paper towels (There should be some but not enough for most stays)
-Toilet Papper (There should be some but not enough for most stays)
-Coffee Pods
-Sunscreen
-Bug spray
-Toiletries
-Shower soap

Suggestions:
- Bottled water (we have scheme water in Moore River, whilst it is drinkable you may prefer bottled water.)
- A large sunhat
- Tennis Racquets
- Golf Sticks
- Boogie Boards
- Plastic containers to put dry food into- To discourage ants
- All your food, drinks and supplies - We suggest you buy all that you'll need before coming to Moore River. We do have two small shops in town that carry some things but they don't have a wide variety of products.

Being that Moore River is surrounded by bush, the houses do get field mice, spiders, ants and bugs, largely because the houses aren't permanently occupied. Everyone does their best to control them but it's a fact of life living in such a beautiful spot.

Neighborhood highlights

If you've never been to Moore River, then you're in for a treat. Moore River is a sleepy beach town with a limited number of houses (beach shacks) and a caravan park along the foreshore of the river. The original houses with the prime views were primarily built by farmers in the 1950's. Some have been rebuilt or updated but most are still the little beach shacks that make Moore River so appealing to anyone wanting to step back in time to enjoy the sea, beach, river and nature. Moore River is a special place being it's a holiday town, so most people who enjoy MR like a very laid back holiday and it's holiday vibe.

Shells Cottage is less than a 5 minute walk to the foreshore, beach, river, General Store & Cafe is just down the road. The house is walking distance to the Golf Club, Bowling Green, Country Club, Putt Putt, Skate ramp, Tennis Courts and of course the beach and river the main attraction in Moore River.
