Private romantic farm stay just 44 km from Auckland CBD. Rose Cottage is a newly built stand‑alone retreat on our Karaka farm. Relax in your secluded garden embraced by nature or wander the main garden, farm and native bush.

Enjoy all the comforts of home: super king bed, tiled bathroom with walk‑in shower, washer/dryer, ducted aircon, outdoor dining and a double outdoor bath under the stars.

Close to Auckland airport and yet feels a million miles away.

The space
Architecturally designed one bedroom cottage on our farm in Karaka within a private garden space just for you to make yourselves at home. Adjacent to our home and yet private and peaceful. Perfect for couples friends or families wanting peace and quiet and a sampling of a rural lifestyle.

The bedroom has a comfortable super king bed overlooking the orchard. The main living area has bespoke furniture and french doors that open up to give you a seamless garden experience.

The outdoor bath is perfect for 2 and guest reviews note the private, romantic, star gazing is a highlight of their stay.

The well equipped kitchenette, with full sized fridge/freezer, allows cooking on an induction hobb or microwave. Please note, no oven. Complimentary continental breakfast is included and awaits you for your first breakfast and always contains fresh homemade artisan sourdough bread. Nespresso machine and a French press with freshly ground locally roasted coffee is supplied. Free bottle of mineral water per guest is included.

The Webber BBQ allows el fresco cooking on the patio under the covered verandah or we can arrange a delicious grazing platter on request with some notice.

As a new, purpose built cottage the space allows you to feel safe and warm with the ducted cooling/heating system complimenting opening doors/windows.

The interior design is fresh and bespoke with most of the decor being one off pieces. With 2 smart TVs you are encouraged to BYOL-Bring your own login.

A Tiltaway queen bed with hotelier mattress is available for extra guests. Extra guest fee applies.

Portable cot and/or high chair available on request for your little ones at no charge.

You will share the driveway into the property with us and then settle in to your own parking space, garden and cottage.

Close proximity to Auckland Airport makes this a convenient stop over for travellers before and after flights or as a base to explore Auckland and surroundings.

With a 2 pm check in and 1100 check out, guests are encouraged to relax and de-stress through out a contactless check in/out.

Other things to note
Rose Cottage is located on a working farm in Karaka. There are farm animals, friendly dogs and electric fences, please leave all gates as you find them if you choose to explore beyond the main garden.

We have 1 ha of covenanted native bush that is teeming with bird life and has a deep pond. Feel free to explore and please stick to the trails. Some guests have been planting a native tree to mark their visit, if this is something you would like to do please get in touch, we supply the tree.

We ask that you exercise common sense when walking around the farm and note you are exploring at your own risk. Message me when you are here if you need guidance on where you can explore safely within our property.

The miniature ponies, Dotty and Bella, may be grazing next door, if you want to snuggle them let me know and I will bring them closer. Carrots supplied on request!

Escape to the countryside! We are located in a tranquil, rural, farming environment that is only 32 km from Auckland Airport and 44 km from Auckland CBD.

There are wonderful delicatessen options close by at Paddock to Pantry and Stonebridge Market for supplies to prepare your own meals or we can recommend our favourite restaurants nearby.

Local cafes; The Karaka General Store, Lavender Farm Cafe and The Butchers Shop Cafe are quality cafes. Ethereal restaurant at Double Tree Hilton is a 12-15 minute drive from Rose Cottage. Also a 12-15 minute drive are all the common fast food providers and some unique convenient eateries to eat in or takeaway. Pukekohe is approximately 20 minutes drive and has wonderful restaurants such as Blue Ox Babe and The Monarch.

EV Charging station is available at Kingseat Fruit and Veges which is approx. 6 km from Rose Cottage. Maybe enjoy a real fruit ice cream while you charge.

The service centres of Pukekohe and Waiuku are 18km away. Clark’s Beach is 11km away. The black sand beach, Kariotahi, is 25 km away and a stop in Waiuku for fish and chips to eat on the beach is a local tradition.

If you travel to the east, Ardmore and Clevedon are close. Hunua Falls and Regional Park is just 34 km away and is popular for hiking and picnics. Travelling south, Hampton Downs is a 48 km drive for motor sport enthusiasts, carry on another 54 km and you are in Hamilton Waikato. Hobbiton is a nice day out, about 1.5 hours drive.
