Located in peaceful Atlantic Shores, just 2 mins to South Point and 8 mins to Freights Bay (beginner-friendly surfing with turtles). Miami Beach and Oistins nearby. Car recommended for accessing shops and exploring. Gas BBQ and outdoor dining area available.

The apartment is attached to our home, with our garage acting as the divider, so you have total privacy, your own entrance and your own outdoor spaces.

Monkey Corner got its name from the green monkey family that lives across the street. They pass by daily, morning and evening, and are such a joy to watch. We don’t interact with them, they simply go about their business as we do ours.

A couple of minutes’ walk takes you to South Point surf break and around 8 minutes brings you to Freights Bay: the most beginner-friendly wave you’ll ever come across (I carry my longboard there most days!).

You’ll find board rentals and excellent surf schools at Freights and as surfers ourselves, we’re always happy to offer tips or connect you with great instructors.

You’ll also see plenty of turtles at both beaches: sunrise and sunset are the best times to spot them.

Miami Beach, perfect for swimming and relaxing, is a 20-minute walk away and a few minutes further is Oistins, famous for its Friday night Fish Fry.

Wind sports such as kitesurfing and wingfoiling are an easy 5–10 minute drive.

Surfer’s Bay, a fun spot for sundowners, food and live music, is within walking distance too.

We recommend hiring a car to make the most of the island. While you can walk, catch buses, or use Pick Up Barbados (like Uber), you’ll have more freedom with a car. The airport is just a 15-minute drive.

Guest access
You have your own entrance with key safe access upon arrival. We are on hand for any info you need or if any issues arise. This is Barbados! Things may not work as they do at home but we will do our best to make sure your stay runs as smooth as possible.

Other things to note
Sometimes the water goes off. Sometimes the electricity goes off. Never for too long usually but try to remember this is a Caribbean island with limited resources. We respectfully ask that you use the A/C with consideration and never leave it on when you go out for the day.

PLEASE NOTE for long stays of 28 days+ we will arrange a mid-stay clean at your cost of US$35 every 2 weeks at a convenient time to suit you.

Where you’ll be

Atlantic Shores, Christ Church, Barbados

Atlantic Shores is a residential area on the South Coast of Barbados near Oistins. A mix of private residences of professional people, retirees and holiday homes and rentals mean the roads are generally quiet with limited traffic. Walking around the neighbourhood is safe and friendly and there is an active community watch program. You are away from it all here yet a short drive will bring you to that famous Barbados hospitality and bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife.

I’m Anna, and Monkey Corner is our spacious, peaceful studio here in Barbados. It’s attached to our home but has its own entrance and private areas so you can relax in total comfort. My husband Mark and I moved here in 2024 for a slower, more ocean-focused life. We spend our time surfing, swimming, wingfoiling and exploring the island. We’re easygoing hosts - happy to leave you to your holiday, but always here if you need tips or recommendations.
