Ziemupe is a remote seaside village sparsely populated with around 200 inhabitants. It takes approximately 12 km on rural roads once you take a turn from Liepāja-Ventspils (P111) highway. “Ķīču Orga” is ancient an name of the place, which is still honored by the locals. The largest part of Ziemupe contains Ziemupes Nature Reserve - both seaside and forest territories. Thereby, the surrounding territory is wild and uninhabited. Ziemupe is a suitable destination for nature lovers and activities during all seasons - flounder fishing, water sports, hiking, mushrooming, wild berry picking, bird watching, etc. There are a few significant trails crossing Ziemupe, for example, the Baltic coastal hiking route Jūrtaka and the cycle route EuroVelo (571). More new holiday retreats are being built with a growing trend. In the center of Ziemupe, there is a well-equipped public beach, a souvenir shop, a museum, and a restaurant and SPA in Ziemupe's manor.
