The space
Jala is an antique teakwood Gladak villa with its own private infinity pool, deck, lounge chairs, fully equipped kitchenette, desk and luxury private en-suite bathroom. The queen size poster bed is an antique and made of teakwood and includes a luxury mattress and bedding. The views of the rice fields and mountains are astonishing. It is peaceful here where you are surrounded by nature. Join us for your holiday here and reconnect with yourself and nature.

Guest access
There is access via a motorbike path and free parking for motorbikes. There is short term parking for cars on the street. We also have bicycles available for riding around the village so you can see the beautiful rice fields. And walking is safe and an incredible experience in and of itself.

Masakali Retreat's location was meticulously chosen to offer a serene escape just outside the bustling energy of Ubud, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nature while remaining close enough to enjoy city center activities. Our open-air setting amidst nature means that occasionally, small critters like geckos and insects may visit the property. Rest assured, our dedicated staff employs preventative measures and promptly addresses any guest concerns to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

In her travels, she found Bali. It was so beautiful and serene. The Balinese people were kind, their culture so rich and she found a peace here like nowhere else. So she built Masakali so others could come and reconnect with themselves, their partners and nature the way she did.
