The house is located on the Île de Malvy, a small private island of just over 1 hectare. It is part of the beautiful village of Mosnac-Saint-Simeux and is accessed by a bridge. It is nestled in a green valley and sheltered by the river that surrounds it, so it is a very quiet place.

You can discover the banks of Charente during a canoe ride, on foot or by bike. The Flow Vélo, a bike path, is less than a 1-minute walk from the island. Unless you prefer to go hiking to discover the pretty surrounding trails.

For a cultural getaway, the island is ideally located between Angoulême and Cognac, respectively 25 and 45 minutes' drive away. These cities have the city of art and history label and many festivals and events are scheduled there throughout the year.
There are many villages and sites to visit as well as many activities close to the island.
Many activities are available on the pretty seaside resort of Bain des Dames, which, like the Île de Malvy, is located on the "La Flow Vélo" bike path (pretty sandy beach supervised in summer, slides, swings, zip line, archery, paddle board, pedal boat, kayak, health course, bowling alley...). To reach the Bain des Dames, it takes 15 minutes by bike via the bike path, or 5 minutes by car.

For more information, feel free to visit the Île de Malvy website, its FBK page or its Insta account!

Guest access
You have the house and its adjoining garden to yourselves. Each house has a private garden. The residents of each house cannot cross paths if they confine themselves to the part of the garden that is dedicated to them. But nothing prevents you from getting to know each other, it's up to you.

Where I went to school: Université Poitiers et ESC Bordeaux
My work: Ile de Malvy
It was my paternal grandfather Paul who settled here with my grandmother Raymonde and their 5 children, including my father Pierre, just after the Second World War. He built his house on the foundations of an old mill, a house in which I grew up with my parents and two sisters and where I now live with my husband Cédric and our daughter Héloïse. My grandfather turned the stable into a distillery and built the two attached cellars to make his Cognac age. The Maison des Frênes, at the time of my grandpa, was offices for the distillers. La Maison des Aulnes is an old mill. I lived in Paris for a little more than ten years, I was working on business advice in the field of new information and communication technologies. It was on a professional project that I met my husband Cédric, a consultant too. When my father died, my mother stayed for a while on this island before deciding to move into town. We left Paris with my little family to settle on the island of Malvy in April 2014. I left the world of advice to invest 100% in hosting. In parallel, I have a great passion that takes great care of the plant! I spend all my free time gardening, I would like to make this small island an oasis of biodiversity, I try to do permaculture and I plan to create an "edible forest" or "garden forest" on the island, a project that should take care of myself until the end of my days! Cédric continues to work on business advice. He shares his time between the island of Malvy and abroad sincehe travels for his work. If you want to please me bring me cuttings or seeds of what you want, my goal being to develop biodiversity on this island by planting the greatest possible variety of plants there! See you soon!
