A 2 bedroom heritage 19th century farmhouse tastefully restored with respect for the environment using reclaimed timber, stone and wood from the farm. The sitting/dining room, kitchen and one bedroom are in the original farmhouse while a new extension contains a bedroom, wet room, sauna and a chill-out leisure room with hydrospa.

The space
Situated in the Mealagh Valley just 8km from Bantry, Haggart House feels like a beautifully remote hideaway but with every modern creature comfort needed for a relaxing and romantic holiday. A great base for hill walking and escaping hectic modern life as both Sheep’s Head Way and St. Finbarr’s Pilgrim Way traverse the valley. The low level of light pollution makes stargazing enjoyable. The Schull Planetarium is just a short 36km drive.

ORIGINAL FARMHOUSE
Sitting / Dining Room: This superb open plan space enjoys a tall ceiling adorned with grand apex beams. The furniture includes the original settle, a church pew and comfy chairs. Heating is by a large woodburing stove or electric heaters. The large table, made from one of the farm’s fallen trees, seats 6 guests.

Bedroom 2: in the original farmhouse is furnished as in “olden days”. The metal framed double bed is dressed with high quality linen. Access by internal or external doors. Radiator and electric heater.
