Where you’ll be

Odai, Mie-ken, Japan

"Explore the Osugidani valley"

The Osugidani valley in Odai, which is on the list of the UNESCO's Biophere Reserves, is one of the most mysterious lands in Japan and is famous for large natural forests.
There is a perfect blend of great nature, scenery, clear water and culture.

It is customary for The Ise Jingu Grand Shrine with a 2000-year history that all the buildings of the Shrine are rebuilt anew every 20 years in the "Shikinensengu" (periodic shrine reconstruction).
The shrine forest in Odai had provided the source of timber for the rebuilding, which was sent all the way down the Miya river to Ise.

"Scenic Tea Fields"

Tea is the most popular beverage in Japan and plays an inportant role in Japanese food culture.
In Odai, every house used to plant teas in their garden or field and made their own homemade tea blends.

There are still a lot of fresh green tea fields spreading out.
You can experience traditional hand-made tea making in the harvest seasons at May and September. (We need an additional charge.)
