Other things to note
There is no designated parking onsite. We recommend parking further up the road (250m) where the yellow lines end, we’ve never had trouble getting a spot but sometimes you do have to go a short distance when the road is busy.

There is a covered space in the back garden where you can lock up bikes at your own risk.

Dolgellau is a charming and quaint market town overlooked by the magnificent Cader Idris mountain. The town has over 200 listed buildings, which gives you a sense of some of the traditional stone architecture around you. The centre of Dolgellau is a few minutes from the house. There is a great assortment of small shops, and places to eat and drink. If you arrive early we recommend you visit TH Roberts – they have great cakes!

We are perfectly located for visiting the vast sandy beaches, rolling hills and forestry in the area, or as a base to go further afield into North Wales to places such as Portmeirion, Anglesey, Zipworld, Harlech Castle, or to climb Mount Snowdon. Cader Irdris is a short drive up the road and there are lots of beautiful walks like the Precipice walk not far from Dolgellau. The Mach Loop attracts plane enthusiasts from all over the world to witness the spectacular low flying planes in training. If you wish you can hire a bike within walking distance and explore the stunning Mawddach Estuary and bike all the way to Barmouth.
