Travel back in time in our village home! The house is decorated with furniture and objects from the past, all of them sourced during years of searching for things at sales and auctions. Grandpa Olle started the journey of collecting vintage objects – we have now used them to decorate the house. Find toys from the 50s, vintage maps, old-school kitchenware and travel guides from bygone eras. Welcome home to the past!
The space
We think of this place as something in between a guesthouse and a showroom/museum space. Please join us in taking good care of everything, not least books, paintings, textile and rare objects. We are happy to share this space with you!
The far end of the house has two bedrooms, one medium size and one large. There's also a children's room, a small library, a good size living room and a kitchen. There are two small bathrooms, both have showers.
For sleeping, there are two single beds, one double bed, a children's bed, a smaller children's bed and two foldable extra beds (in case you are many guests).
Find basic equipment for cooking and preparing food in the kitchen, and dinnerware for 10 people.
The house has a large garden, please use it as you please. There's also wooden outdoors furniture.
Other things to note
The house is right next to our family business, Floby Överskottslager. This is where we found all the furniture in the house, and most of the vintage objects. You’ll find all kinds of different things in the shop, from army surplus and tools to vintage furniture and curious objects (and more!). Welcome any time!

Speaks Arabic, English, and Swedish
I’m an independent writer and photographer from rural Sweden. Since 2009 I live in Beirut where I work on journalistic projects, including Switch Perspective, a storytelling workshop project to which I am one of the co-founders. I have a big interest in textiles and handmade crafts, such as embroidery and weaving. Since 2024 I also host a retro Airbnb home in my native village in Sweden together with my family.
