Exclusive Hangout and Hideaway on the legendary Heringsdorfer Kulm Hill. Completely completed designer house in 2020, the contemporary building with historical elements from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is part of a historic villa ensemble from the penultimate century, offering a stunning, almost endless sea view. With only a few minutes walk to the beach - and to the historic center of Heringsdorf.
The space
Private and at the same time central
Protected from prying eyes, nestled in a magnificent garden of gnarled old apple trees, tamarisk trees, roses, lavender and hawthorn, the Kulm sits enthroned at an altitude of over 20 meters directly on the green cliff.
Watch the sun rise from the sea in the morning, a first hot coffee in the rocking chair, seagulls crying, waves, dune sand - in the kulm time becomes relative. XL prossen folding doors that open to the water and south on the whole front of the house bring summer, the sun, sea and nature inside and life outside. And if you want to start the day with a wonderfully refreshing dip in the Baltic Sea, you have it down to the white sand beach just a few minutes and down stairs. By the way, it is not much further to the organic scrambled eggs and freshly squeezed juice in the "Pier 14" in the heart of Heringsdorf.
The senses live
80 sqm of open living space on two levels; antique brushed plank flooring with underfloor heating; imposing seven-meter-high concrete walls with portholes; dimmable light; a two hundred-year-old creaky chapel staircase; freestanding bathtub; white curtains that blow in the wind; washbasins from the wood old Pommerscher Ulmen; a 360-degree ceiling fireplace where the fire crackles when the storm rages outside - here the place is in mind for your movie. The state-of-the-art 40 sqm kitchen-living room with waxed concrete dining table, which has three gas hotplates including wok set, has everything you need for enjoyable hours alone or with friends: XL-Smeg fridge, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Nespresso coffee shop, tea, coffee and drinking chocolate. And if you want, we will of course also organize a bottle of Usedom Gin. It's fantastic. If guests stay longer, a cozy fold-out sofa bed is available next to the master bed on the garden floor on the ocean floor, where you will be tickled in the morning by the rays of the rising sun on your face. Oh so - did you know? Usedom is considered the sunniest region of Germany.
Immerse yourself in the mythos amber coast.
The dream of the lakeside resort of Heringsdorf was born on the famous Kulm hill with its towering majestic beech forests and its spectacular ocean view 200 years ago. Built with the White Castle, the first guest accommodation of Bülow in 1825, which later followed other lodging houses. This includes Villa Meeresstern, which includes the newly built Remise Das Kulm.
In Villa Meeresstern composed Engelbert Humperndick, creators of the famous opera "Hänsel and Gretel", the acting music for Shakespeare's The Storm just under a hundred years ago. Also the sisters of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy enjoyed the summer freshness here. By the way, the bathroom doors in the Kulm are made of the same floorboards of Villa Meeresstern, over which the famous visitors once walked. And, most importantly, after stormy night, you can't miss going to the beach and look for what gave this region its name in the fine dune sand: Bernstein.
Sleeping, swimming, feasting, strolling
In the wardrobe we have provided you with beach bag and beach towels. In the historic center of Heringsdorf, Da Claudio, Lutter & Wegner, Domkes Fischpavillion, Bäckerei Junge, the Hotel Steigenberger with excellent spa landscape are great destinations for feasting, strolling and relaxing. And those who bring the strength, can make great trips to the most magnificent landscape reserves with extensive bird sanctuaries and renovated swimming pools full of cranes, herons, swans, cormorants and storks. A real natural spectacle.
Speaking of driving: If you don't want to arrive by your own car - from the Kulm to the train station it's only a few minutes by taxi. From there you will take the train to the rest of the Republic. Flixbus also runs regularly to Heringsdorf. By the way, it is only 26 minutes to Heringsdorf Airport, which is served by various destinations of Lufthansa.

A little poetry by Basel-based poet Emma Brenner-Kron from 1873 (“Reisebilder aus dem deutschen Norden”):
“Under lively jokes, you can walk further up the mountain, through the magnificent beech forest, in the shade of the hottest in a giant domes hidden, the pretty little church; its colorful windows radiated the picture of the spooky trees. - It went up to the highlight of the mountain, the so-called Kulm, where the view dominates the wide lake from an Estrade attached.
In the shade of the beech trees stands the small house, and from its elevated tarp, the view of the sea that burns not far away.
Far down there is Swinemünde: but the lighthouse shines like a burning star, up to us. And over the island of Wollin with Misdroy, the friendly seaside resort. And distant, in the ather, the outskirts of Rügen to the north. - And mountain and forest, and field and hallway, they green and bloom.
And on the beach we walked up and down, searched for Bernstein, but only found mussels, which we also included as a worthy memory. The coast near Heringsdorf is covered up far into the countryside with the deep, white sand that shimmers like a snowy field in the sunshine. The sand by the sea, countless like the stars of heaven, and indescribably beautiful!
For hours you would like to spend hours walking on this soft, warm sand field, stretched out on the beach, burying the limbs in the sands, breathe in the salty sea air. From the left, the dunes, the beach oatmeal alone, shining brightly, but over the pine trees and dunes, the ornate herring, with its villas and gardens, with its green, magnificent park shined again from its hillside.”
