OMG! Year-round sun-kissed regenerative hideaway ecolodge mountain chalet, nestled at altitude in one of Chamonix valley’s most sought after hamlets Les Frasserands. Meticulous design with sustainability at its heart - from organic paint, mattresses and finishes to full renewable energy, with nonetheless premium facilities (Endless pool, sauna, jacuzzi). Amazing views of Mont Blanc, Grand Montets, Aiguilles Rouges. At the heart of Europe's best winter skiing, and summer trail running heaven.
The space
Chalet AIKOA has been conceived as our dream mountain home, after living full or part-time across the road in the little "La Nicola" chalet for more than 20 years. Only part way through the project did we decide to turn this in to a formal business, making some modifications to better suit rented and serviced premium accommodation for eco-sensitive travellers. Whilst we haven't been able to do every single thing we would like on a sustainability front, we have nonetheless invested heavily in our eco-choices - from the ambition to be autonomous in heating, hot water and in the future electricity via solar and geothermal, to organic paint, beds, linen throughout, and many other sometimes difficult choices.
Guest access
Parking is easy in front of the chalet for up to 5 cars with ease. Just bear in mind in winter snow/winter tyres are strongly recommended as there is a steeper part of road at both ends - when the roads are white, snow tyres or if not snow chains are mandatory equipment in the area. You'll need them anyway to safely access the ski areas, and its a legal requirement in Haute-Savoie in winter. There are both regular train and bus services from the end of the road to both Chamonix and StGervais, as well as to Martigny in Switzerland (all the way to the Geneva airport if wanted!).
Chalet AIKOA is just a couple of minutes away from the winter ski area of Le Tour, and no more than 5 minutes from the main ski zone of Les Grands Montets, and less than 10 minutes from Flegere-Brevent area.
Other things to note
There is a Games Room equipped with billiards, ping-pong and a locally Italian built hand-made wooden table football game. Badminton for kids available for the summer months, with huge wild garden area for football and general outdoor fun. Great yoga space indoors and out on the terrace. There is also a cinema room, which for some reason is not on AirBNB standard list of room options - room for up to 8-10 people in a dedicated big screen space with amazing sound. Its better than the real cinema in our experience so far! Connect to your own Netflix or Apple TV account, or project using your own Apple device via the Apple TV.

CHAMONIX! Les Frasserands, close to Argentiere and Le Tour, unknown to most until recently, is a quiet and beautiful small village at the top of the Chamonix valley, at just under 1400m of altitude. With a considerably more open mountain profile than lower down the valley near Chamonix town, the views are 360 and extraordinary, with sunshine even in the darkest days of winter from mid-morning to afternoon. Sitting very often above the clouds when they cumulate lower in the valley, this really is a sun-kissed hideaway. We have personally lived here for more than 20 years, and with Chalet AIKOA have built an eco-lodge with premium facilities, to share this stunning location with others. Summer or winter, this is a brilliant village to be based in to exploit the year-round adventure, pleasure and beauty of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley and everything it has to offer.
