Vacation rentals with lake access in Grasmere

What a hidden treasure! We absolutely loved the location and the space was perfect for us. Even when we had a slight hiccup it was resolved efficiently and with no disruption to us. We would defintely book again. Many thanks Kim!

A cozy multilevel home with lots of character. The kitchen and dining area are fairly small/cozy, but they worked for us (5 adults). The home has beautiful views and a nice private outdoor area for reading/relaxing. **Be sure to read the parking instructions, and watch the parking video.** We didn’t and so our rental van, a VW MPV almost got stuck going up the driveway that has a sharp corner. A smaller car would be ok, and definitely if it has 4WD/AWD. Even the postman spun a tire on his way up the drive. You can walk to a parking lot at the base of the hill leading to the base of Old Man Coniston trail. It’s <5 min walk up the hill and to the right, from the back of the house. You can park there for £8 for 24 hours. Old Man Coniston is a nice walk - though be aware of the weather. It was misty/foggy/windy for us - and very much so at the top - which made it quite an adventure. We needed a phone/gps map to complete the loop trail.

Had a great time staying here with some friends for a long weekend in the Lake District. Really unique house, and easy access to great hikes.

Elizabeth’s house was even better than the photos—spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect, it’s in a quiet residential area yet close to the lake and town center. Elizabeth was super responsive and gave us a lot of helpful tips for local restaurants and hiking suggestions. Would absolutely stay here again!

parking for 2 cars was perfect. location was great and so quiet and yet in the centre of everything.

Elisabeth's property is a great place located in a beautiful area, that is extremely close to shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Located close to Skiddaw and Lake Derwent, you can leave the house and chose a hike of your choice. The house is equipped with everything you need and I will be looking to return when back in the area.

We stayed at Brad and Sue’s place in Coniston in June. Great location - lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance and several small shops for essentials. We were 5 adults and a dog and found the accommodation really comfortable with everything we needed for our week. Helpful tips for local pubs, cafes and restaurants from Brad and Sue. A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

Peter was very helpful, and the check-in process was easy. We arrived early, and when I mentioned this to Peter, he told me that I could check in right away if the cleaner had finished. Ray and Sue were extremely responsive throughout, they met us and showed us around the apartment. They were very friendly and advised if we needed anything else we could reach out to them. The apartment was exactly as described, clean, loads if room, and we had very comfy beds. We had every item required in the kitchen, plus juice, milk and chocolate biscuits in the fridge which was a lovely gesture, plus tea, coffee, and sugar. Everything was to hand. We had a great stay, I would definitely recommend this accommodation, and our hosts Ray and Sue were brilliant. Thank you so much. X

We loved our mother/daughter get-away at the Curator’s Flat! The space was so quaint and historic. The squeaky floor boards and quirky ups and downs were charming. We appreciated the chance to wander in the gardens and enjoy the grounds after hours. Kira gave us a private tour of Wordsworth’s home that was a highlight of our visit to the Lake District. The location was superb—peaceful and perfectly located away from the hordes of tourists but close enough to walk to Ambleside and Grasmere when we needed to stretch our legs. The famed Coffin Trail began literally at our doorstep. Exploring adjacent Rydal Hall was also fun. Badger Inn was THE PLACE for evening meals with excellent food and atmosphere. We couldn’t be more pleased and hope to return again. Thanks for the warm hospitality!

Stunning place, inside was lovely and beautiful surroundings. We booked last minute and as 2 travelling with work so did not get to enjoy the place as much as I wish we could of!

Scafell View had everything we needed. There was onsite private parking so guaranteed an easy space opposite the property and the apartment is a good size with everything you need. There were 3 of us staying and it great base from which to explore the local area and the views are amazing, especially the night sky! Sharon provided clear instructions on how to find the property with some suggestions and helpful info in the apartment. The only thing I'd ask for would be a few more adult board games for the evenings.

Great little stay walking distance from the train station. Lovely, quiet home was everything we needed!

Tracy’s place is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District. The cottage is small but has everything you could need and doesn’t feel cluttered. Tracy was very helpful and quick to respond to messages. Would definitely stay here again!

This was our second stay at The Haven and it was just as lovely as we remembered! Beautiful surroundings and extremely clean, the property had everything we needed. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning in the future!

A beautiful cottage in the most stunning and well kept grounds. The chickens absolutely added value to the experience, especially the little brown one who we named Wilmer for our stay! She was the perfect little neighbour, cute, cheeky and friendly. The lake, boat and kayaks were gorgeous. Cottage stunning, found the smell of ‘dog’ noticeable when I went in which sparked some allergies but luckily, not upstairs so didn’t impact sleep. It clearly said dogs welcome downstairs so something I should have thought about in advance. The library and reading area overlooking gardens and lake was so peaceful and cottage really does optimise the space. Kitchen very well thought out with good facilities and loved the fresh eggs and white roses left, a really thoughtful and lovely gesture. Gorgeous place, privacy respected and clearly a much loved cottage. Thank you.
