Houseboat on Prinsengracht Jordaan

JenniferRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend aboard Johan's houseboat, in a great location in the Jordaan! It was an experience simply not available in a hotel or B&B. We drank morning coffee and late afternoon cocktails on the deck whle soaking up the few remaining days of late summer sun. It was ideally located close to neighborhood restaurants, shops, and even weekend organic food and flea market, and a short walk to tourist attractions in the old city center. If not up for a longer walk along the canal to the museum quarter and beyond, a public transportation options were always available nearby. Communication prior to arrival and during our stay was proactive and prompt. The inside of the houseboat was even more spacious than we anticipated, and the beds were comfortable. We'll definitely opt for a stay here during our next visit to Amsterdam!
The exterior of the houseboat is showcased, featuring a dark hull with the name 'IDEAAL' prominently displayed. The boat is moored alongside a wooden pier, with ropes securing it in place. Calm waters reflect a cloudy sky, creating a serene atmosphere.

Houseboat with modern interior in the city center

MaxRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Staying on this houseboat in Amsterdam was an unforgettable experience! The location was perfect—peaceful and right on the water, but still just a short walk or bike ride from the heart of the city. Waking up to the gentle movement of the boat and the sound of ducks outside was incredibly relaxing. The interior was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The views from the deck were stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. It felt like a true escape compared to hotels I’ve stayed in. Our host was friendly and responsive, making check-in easy. If you’re looking for a unique and serene way to experience Amsterdam, I highly recommend this houseboat stay!
An exterior view of the houseboat highlights a spacious terrace surrounded by wooden railings. Comfortable seating areas are positioned to enjoy the water view. Potted plants add greenery to the setting, while the calm water reflects the adjacent buildings.

Luxury Houseboat Amsterdam, free parking

We were so lucky to be able to stay in such a beautiful place! The beds were comfy, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful... it was a lovely escape from the busy, city-center. We LOVED the use of the kitchen and the deck just off the kitchen. Hein was so good to have bikes available for us. There is little available directly near the home but a 10 minute bike ride along the lovely road and over the bridge gets you to all you could want. We were sad to leave our Amsterdam home and will hope Hein's home is available when we return.

Very peaceful accommodation, the only noises you will hear will be those of ducks and geese. Listing is as described. Everything you need for a pleasant stay. Carla is very responsive. She greeted us when we arrived and had planned small treats for us, which we found very friendly. We would highly recommend and will definitely make a new stopover when we return to the country!

Delightful Modern Houseboat with sunny patio

AmyRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We really enjoyed the opportunity to stay on a houseboat while in Amsterdam and Fern's home was comfortable and relaxing. It was also nice to see a less touristy side of the city - it's an easy tram ride from the city center. Pepper was quite charming and we were delighted with her presence and the patio was a little oasis. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a more authentic stay.

Houseboat-Amsterdam-classic

BrunoRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lovely location, with the Nemo science museum in view, and especially peaceful (for Amsterdam) and the boat is moored next to another one. You can expect to hear a little traffic noise but there's very little chance of hearing anything from pedestrians at all. Location is only 10 minutes or so from Centraal Station, though it took us a few minutes longer to find it. Once you have your bearings it's very easy, and quick to get back to the station. We used Uber for family engagement and the driver found us with no problem, being a few minutes early. Boarding requires a little concentration but my wife uses a stick to walk and she didn't have any difficulty with the one or two steps up, and steps down into the houseboat itself. Once you are aboard everything is easy to find and operate... although we didn't use the TV as we were out and about, relaxing with a beer and wine from the fridge once settled in for the night. We'd certainly stay there again!
A scenic view of a canal in Amsterdam is captured during twilight. Charming buildings line the waterway, adorned with glowing lights that reflect on the water's surface. Boats are moored along the bank, contributing to the tranquil ambiance of the historic setting.

Very nice little boat for a short trip. Please note, one of the 2 beds (the one at the back of the boat) is not very large, you may be cramped if you are over 1.75 m tall. Toilets and showers are shared and on the pontoon but remain clean. Quiet environment with supermarket and bus within walking distance. The host is responsive, available and accommodating👍.

Houseboat Amsterdam Jordaan - Downtown

AbbyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Our stay at Claire’s place was nothing short of magical. The location is hard to beat in the heart of Jordaan, steps away from great Dutch cafes, every restaurant we ate at was within a ten minute walk, every one was fantastic. As well as minutes walk from transit. Somehow though being in the middle of everything, being on the water in this houseboat makes you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. Claire has great taste, her home is designed impeccably, with one of the major highlights being the record player, listening to classics like the Beatles, Bowie, The Doors while sitting on the back porch taking in the incredible view of the canal. Bonus was the most efficient washer dryer I used during my 3 week stay in Europe and the large dishwasher. Had we stayed longer, we would have cooked, there was a fully stocked Chefs kitchen. Thanks for the perfect end to our adventure!

We had a great stay here, the area is so beautiful and peaceful. The surrounding waterways were teeming with life and we had a wonderful time watching all the ducks geese swans herons and commorants. Plenty to do in Aalsmeer and lots of great restaurants and cafes. The house was lovely, nicely decorated and well equipped. Everything was as described/pictured, the sauna made the stay extra special. It was really easy to find the place with Mandy's detailed instructions and she was very quick to respond to any questions we had.

Brewer's houseboat for work and holiday!

GraceRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
A lovely houseboat out of the busy fray of Amsterdam with easily accessible public transportation, cafes and restaurants. The birdlife on the canal was a pleasure, including 5 recently hatched baby coots. Liz gave us proper food to give the parents and we enjoyed watching them feed their offspring. Great break from museums and all the activities of Amsterdam.

Unique floating watervilla in Amsterdam

EddyRating, 5 stars8 months ago
I am an Airbnb heavy user. I have to say that this was one of my best stays in Amsterdam. It was my first time in a house on the water. The experience was amazing as the natural beauty of the water pulse the upscale design of the house made our stay close to a dream come true. The layout of the house (3 different floors) gave total independence to my daughter (15) and me and the integrated living room with a complete kitchen gave us the freedom to purchase our own preferred items for breakfast or dinner. We only stayed 3 days…I could stay forever in such a place.

Amsterdam 2 Bedroom Lux Houseboat

JosephRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This is a perfect 1-3 night experience in Amsterdam! The boat looks and is exactly as it is listed. Kira helped us check in and was very friendly and helpful the entire time! Few things to note if considering: 1.) the kitchen is a hot plate that gets stored away when not using. I would eat out for every meal if saying here. 2.) you have to walk a boardwalk over two other boats to get inside and the doors are extremely skinny… so large luggage is not ideal. Other than that, it is close to the train station, centrally located and very quiet at night! We had a lovely time!
A floating house features a modern design with multiple interconnected sections, sitting along serene waters. Large windows reflect sunlight and provide views of the surrounding area, while a wooden walkway leads to the entrance. Nearby, a crane indicates ongoing construction in the backdrop.

Woonboot-watervilla Amsterdam, free parking

RobertRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Elsa's houseboat was amazing...the perfect way to experience Amsterdam: floating on the water. The house is a 3 minute walk to tram 26 directly to Centraal Station (10 minute ride), so even though it is located a little further out from city center, you can get there directly & quickly. In the immediate neighborhood, there is a great little grocer about 4mins walk, and a larger grocer about 10mins walk. Elsa was proactive and helpful in providing known and unique activity and food recommendations. She was welcoming when we arrived and explained the amenities of her house -- we felt right at home. The decor is fun, contemporary and eclectic...we loved it! This is indeed the full house that you get to yourself with this listing. We did swim: straight out the door and off the dock...this was a nice refresher on the warmer days. Such a unique place in a marvelous and progressive city...highly recommended!

Houseboat Family private Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum

My family of four enjoyed our stay on Cynthianne's houseboat. It was a truly unique experience. I most enjoyed sitting on the deck right on the canal and waving to the passing boats. Cynthianne was very responsive and helpful with suggestions for things to do. The neighborhood was great with restaurants and grocery stores within a few minute walk. Good spot from which to explore Amsterdam.

Cozy swimming paradise houseboat with garden

DanRating, 5 stars21 months ago
We really enjoyed our stay at Niels place, it really is a great house, the pictures almost don’t do it justice, the use of space is so well thought out and it flows really well. We loved swimming in the Dyke each day and we even had some nice eggs from Niels chickens. We also found the neighbours to be very friendly and approachable. The house being a 20 minute walk from NDSM wharf gives you the perfect balance of a countryside break that is very close to the wealth of things to do in Amsterdam. We would definitely go again!
