“We loved our stay in jen’s loft apartment. It is lovely and light, lots of space for 2 of us, sparkling clean, lovely pub nearby and right on South Downs way. We will definitely be back and couldnt recommend more”
The Shepherd's hut sits just on the edge of Firle, one of the South Downs most iconic villages. It is a very private space, in it's own little meadow, two minutes walk to the shop and three minutes to the famous Ram Inn with Lewes and Brighton nearby
“This is a very sweet rustic shepherd's hut, in a peaceful and completely private position in a field, next to fields of horses. Peter and his daughter were very welcoming and easy going and sorted things out immediately if there was an issue. The bed was really comfortable and i slept well there. I didn't realise when i booked that there was no plumbing or electricity, no access to a shower or running hot water, although there was a kettle for heating water and a nice bowl for washing in. You have access to the loo and basin in the church, which is open from 8-8., and there are also plugs in there if you need to charge your phone. It was great for a couple of nights and in some ways the simplicity made it even nicer - I enjoyed working out how to do everything. But good to know before you go!”

“We came here for a mini Christmas break before the big day and couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Instructions on how to get there were clear (it’s very rural!), and place itself was spacious, spotless and bright! Hailey was a lovely host who was happy to let us settle in once we knew the basics, but was on the end of the phone should we have needed her and checked in on us by text throughout our stay - she also provided us with a great tip for going to the Wakehurst Glow Wild event which we loved! The kitchen was very well equipped, which was important to us as we wanted to cook a mini Christmas dinner and we were able to with ease - plus the fresh eggs from the farm she gifted us were incredible and really the cherry on top of this amazing stay!”
